Sometimes foods that we think are “healthier” doesn’t always mean that it is... For example, Banana Bread. Yes, it’s got bananas in it, that’s awesome! 🍌 BUT actual ingredients used/nutritional value (and how much is actually banana) will vary greatly, and might be next to NOTHING if it’s store bought.  As you can see, a slice of banana bread may actually have MORE CALORIES than a Big Mac πŸ˜±πŸ” And in fact, it’s the nutritional values/macronutrients (protein, fats and carbs) and CALORIES that matter if you’re trying to lose weight πŸ₯¦πŸ₯“ Calories are energy.  TOO MUCH energy (more than you need) is stored as fat, which is going to lead to FAT GAIN, regardless of where that energy is coming from. Keep your weight balanced on your front heel to avoid unwanted stress on the knee. - For more focus on your QUADS, keep an upright torso. - Shorter strides for more quad emphasis. Calorie Density - not all foods are equal ☝🏽 SAVE/LIKE so you don’t lose this & FOLLOW @fitandfiesty for more diet and health advice πŸ₯—πŸ₯‘πŸ’ͺ🏽 . So if you didn’t already know, vegetables generally tend to be LESS calorie dense than proteins, like beef and chicken.  This means that for the SAME amount of calories, you could eat a MUCH LARGER volume of veggies than you could of the meat. If you’re trying to lose weight, the larger volume of vegetables can be advantageous because it can make you feel FULLER for LESS CALORIES, helping you to lower your total calorie intake for the day (and we all know losing weight means calories in < calories used). HOWEVER, I want to stress that BOTH proteins and vegetables belong in your diet.  Protein is required for many essential bodily processes, especially maintaining and building muscle!  Plus, it can help with feelings of satiation and keep you feeling fuller for longer.  So the BEST thing to do? Have a mixture of BOTH, choose LEAN proteins and fill up on veggies FIRST before moving on to the other parts of the meal :) . . .
