They say autumn paints the world in colours that the other seasons never see. Fall season has it's own share of perks. Pumpkins, chestnuts and the transition of all the colors that the season brings with it. But as spectacular as the heaps of auburn leaves may be, I am let down seeing all the vibrantly clashing foliage fall off at the end. Winter is coming.
She is the one from the dreams. A majestic tragedy, she may be, but she is the goddess whom we owe for molding our hopes and weaving our dreams into reality. The streets and her city lights, coupled with the twinkling stars in the night, are of the likeness of a carnival of fireflies leading to the horizon and beyond. She is in the infinite cerulean sky, with the sweet cotton candy clouds afloat. She is in the warmth of the radiant summer sun; she is in the melodious drum-beating raindrops of the monsoon rains. Her rivers flow like veins. In the words of Tagore - Oh my golden Bangla, I love you. This country, despite all of her many flaws, weaknesses and failings, still finds a way to seduce you. She stains our hearts with the spirit of green and red. Regardless of all her struggles, she is manifest in the smiles of her people's happiness. She is a sight to see, and her name is Bangladesh. #dhaka#bangladesh#doubleotravels#photographersofbangladesh
A trip to the United Arab Emirates would be incomplete without visiting the staples of must-visit landmarks in Dubai. From the Burj Al-Arab to the Burj Khalifa, the Atlantis and The Palm Jumeirah, to the Dubai Mall.. This entire city is essentially the Arab Emirates' equivalent of what would be America's New York City. Always bustling and busy, regardless of the time while the blitz and glams add to the vibrant spectacle. Alhamdulillah for a good time in yet another city that never sleeps. #dubai#doubleotravels
To where the sky meets the sea, where the clouds kiss the land and where the sun melts into the horizon. There are those who will follow you all the way to the edge of the world.. And beyond, if possible. Keep them close.
A Ramadan night in the Middle-East. I got to pray Taraweeh here, Alhamdulillah. Quite a memorable stay; one that I will cherish for years to come. Experience the food, the culture and the everyday life. It's very different to say the least! Abu Dhabi gave me a more organic outlook and insight into the lifestyles of the Arab world, something quite different from what we find in Dubai. If anyone ever gets the chance, I would highly recommend spending some time travelling over there. You will not be disappointed! #abudhabi#doubleotravels
Don't let negative news drown you down. Don't let it stop you from doing the good you can. While there is light, there is hope.. Love and prayers for those who lost their lives and those affected by the Las Vegas shooting incident.
To say that my past summer was a mere rollercoaster ride would be an understatement. A much-needed getaway for selfcare and introspective reflections. It was filled with great many blessings in the form of experiences through enlightening journeys, memories created with lots of love, smiles and laughters, and enjoying delectable food with great company of family and friends. I revisited my roots and had the opportunity to share precious moments with old pals. I also had the opportunity of a lifetime with an internship at H&M Corporate and work on there future campaigns, which was priceless. I was fortunate enough to travel quite a few places when I was busy trotting around the globe, hopping from city to city. So I finally got around to filtering through my cameras and SD cards for the pictures, in hopes that I can share glimpses of my travels. More of the pictures will roll out over the next few days! 😃 Follow the journey on #doubleotravels
I think we all carry with us various different versions of ourselves. But the greatest, most honest and truest version of ourselves can be developed and nourished, or it can remain dead from neglect. Ultimately, the version that strives, the version that thrives and the version that dies - all depends upon the choices we make and the loved ones in our lives. Let us chase the best version of ourselves we can become.
Men placed boundaries and built walls instead of creating bridges and avenues. Men, in his own ignorance, took upon God's open Earth to claim as his own.. without realizing there's enough room for all of us to bask in the bounties of this world.. Stay strong, Canada. Let's be the beacon of hope for the world through this time of darkness. We cannot let the waves of hate get the best of us. Never again. Never again. Never again.
Great things come to those who are patient, because God is the greatest. Alhamdulillah for everything. Requesting everyone's prayers and blessings for success, growth and prosperity of the possibilities this endeavor brings with it, InshaAllah. H&M x DoubleO x Waseelah International. Let's get it. Bismillah.
I remember saying this a couple of weeks back: the downfall of our progress to a better world will not be because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who stand by watching and do nothing about it. We are all, each and individually, part of the system. If we should look anywhere, we should look within. Change starts from within; so I'll start with myself. To human is to err. We need unfaltering hope in the eyes of decline - for those with the strength and courage to rise above the challenge will see through the lens of wisdom: what is meant to be, will be. In the words of Imam Shafi', "My heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me, and what misses me was never meant for me." :) My plan is to smile more, place my trust and hope, despite the odds. Allah alone is sufficient for me.
They say faith can move mountains. What they haven't told you is that faith in yourself, your ability and your God will enable you to move obstacles of heights you never imagined yourself capable of moving, let alone leaving a dent in the universe bearing your name on it. Life is a one way route. You can't go back once you leave a chance for greater things. So whether it be carpe diem or carpe noctem, make the most of this journey. Leave your mark. If you were to rely on God as He should be relied on, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds. They go out early in the morning hungry and return home in the evening full. #homecoming; have faith.
