In a healthy individual, the pancreas produces insulin, which helps transport glucose (sugar) throughout cell membranes, and into cells for energy production. Diabetes is a condition where either the pancreas can not produce it’s own insulin(Type 1), or the body can not use the insulin in a sufficient way to regulate the levels of glucose within the bloodstream(Type 2). Without having the ability to regulate sugar levels, a few side affects can occur; nerve damage, weight gain, heart/blood vessel disease, and vision problems. So how can CBD help? If you’ve seen my first blog post, I talk about the Endocannabinoid System and the CB1 & CB2 receptors. Throughout our body we have these receptors, and one key area they are found in is the pancreas, in the islet cells-specifically where insulin is created. The stimulus of these receptors has been linked to insulin production. Not only that, but CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties have shown to be helpful in treating metabolic issues, which are common in those with Type 2 Diabetes. CBD is also a neuroprotectant, helping to relieve nerve damage, as neuropathy is a common side effect of diabetes. CBD has also shown positive results in treating retinopathy, a disorder of the eyes, also common with those diagnosed with diabetes & also has been shown to be helpful in treating cardiovascular disease. CBD not only helps in promoting insulin production, but also helps alleviate other side effects caused by diabetes. An all in one medication 🤗💚🍁✨ Side note: if you want to purchase the best medicinal CBD, please get some with THC, and not from a hemp source, if possible 🙏🏽
January 12->15, 2018 Got bring my sister to my last lacrosse tournament in Palm Desert, our team went 5-0. It was an amazing tournament and I will miss this team. Afterwards we drove down to San Diego to drop my sister off at school. I also got the chance to see my childhood neighbor in San Diego, whom I am very close with and was very happy to see.
