πŸ’₯Long Post Warning πŸ’₯ At @huskymafia we started our #redefiningstrong challenge this week. The point of this challenge is to focus on living an overall healthier lifestyle through being consistent in & out of the gym. --- Progress takes time. It does not happen overnight. There is no quick fix. There is hard work, dedication, & consistency! --- My #transformationtuesday pictures are exactly 1 year apart. Throughout this year I consistently worked out (typically lifting heavy) 5-6 days per week and tracked my macros 5-6 days per week. Could I have seen more progress if I would have been perfect in my workouts & tracking? Yes. But that's also not realistic for my life. I did what I was able to do & still live my life along the way. --- What's even better about these pictures? I weigh 2-3lb more in the picture on the right! (Which also shows you that the number on the scale is just that, a number) --- I have a hard time seeing progress in myself & clearly the number on the scale doesn't help me. So apparently I tweaked my shoulder yesterday/last night⁉️ and I can't raise my arm or press, but apparently I can overhead squat without pain β‰οΈπŸ˜‚ --- Had to skip my programming for today which was all upper body pushing stuff & tried overhead squats which is what the class was doing. I'm pretty sure I haven't done overhead squats in almost a year 🀷 --- Worked up to an easy (but super slow/basically tempo πŸ˜‚) double at 95lb. I did some work today too I suppose 🀷 --- Worked up to a daily max on bench at 63kg/138lb and then did a 4x5 at 55kg/121lb [last set shown]. Then destroyed my chest a little more with 3x12 incline DB bench --- Finished up with a circuit of manmakers and jump rope. Had a great day training today! . . Started off working on fixing my bench. I have had an issue with my left shoulder not staying tight and this causeing the bar to be slanted. Took some time today to address that and slow things down today. Time to rebuild the bench.πŸ’ͺ . . Deadlift Day! I almost fell asleep on the gym floor before I started tonight & didn't think I was going to get much done. Happy I proved myself wrong! --- Hit a top set of 5 deadlifts at 117kg/258lb followed by 2x10 sumo deadlifts at 87kg/192lb. Added some barbell hip thrusts for 3x10 at 92kg/202lb --- My circuit today was pullups, wall balls, and farmers carries. Had a great session this morning with coach toby πŸ˜‚ (swipe to see him in action) . . Started off with some shoulder mobility work to try and work on freeing some tissue up in my right shoulder. . . From there went right into some jerks and while no PR was hit during my session, I hit 220lb for a triple beltless and 286lb probably the cleanest I've ever hit that weight. . . After that I had 100 c2b pullups which took my 9:08 to complete. Definitely room to improve but I did hit 7 sets of 10 butterfly c2b before breaking them up moreπŸ’ͺ . . Finished the day doing some over unders shuttle sprints and deadlifts with coach Toby!
