Moments like this is fleeting. You have to seize it. Firefall did not happen at Yosemite yesterday, while walking back one photographer couple said that there is the red dome that is happening in 15 min which can be viewed from a meadow about 2 miles away. We jumped into the car and we might have moved half a mile the traffic started to crawl real slow. With no moments to lose I got down from the car and started to run. Ran by the side of the road, cut though a camp, went around river bend, went back to the camp, ran across a bridge, ran into pro photographer from Beijing. Communicated with him in mix of sign language and some English...he suddenly exclaimed that oh the red dome is starting in few minutes and I told him we need to reach the meadows which was about half a mile away. We ran across knee deep grass and through trees and finally reached the meadow just in time to catch the prime glow of half dome. Sometimes the best ones are won.
