The goodies I selected with my #aucklandfestivalofquilts prize voucher from Quilting and Beyond arrived nestled in sparkly gold fabric like princess mail! (Yes I unpackaged everything and put it back in the box for this photo)
**Not my work unfortunately** This was one of my favourite quilts at both Christchurch Quilt Symposium and Auckland Festival of Quilts, made by Shirley Sparks. In Auckland it deservedly received a prize (I think it was for best use of colour). I love how unusual the colours are & how well they all work together. Congratulations. #aucklandfestivalofquilts
**Not my work unfortunately** I loved this quilt as well. Beautifully sewn by Sandra Bentley @wiseowlquilter It reminds me that I bought a Dragonfly quilt/wall hanging pattern quite a few years ago and I even got fabric! I liked it but was even more encouraged to buy it as my husband said he liked it...& he never likes anything sewing related. Congratulations Sandra, it's gorgeous.👏🌼☺#aucklandfestivalofquilts
More quilts from #aucklandfestivalofquilts 1st pic is the winner of best use if colour made by Shirley Sparks - round and round, 2nd quilt is Starry Starry Night made by @pukeko66 and is my Shop Hop quilt from 2 years ago. Birgit added an extra border on. The 3rd quilt is made by Giona Mendel - the circle game pattern from @jenkingwell. I love all the colours.
This is my amazing prize from Barbara at Florence and Mary (she's on Facebook but not IG) ..... 16 Liberty fat quarters, I am so amazed at her generosity. They are so beautiful. I'll have to make a quilt with them just to show her next year! Yes, there are more than 16 FQ in the photo.... I purchased a few extras! #florenceandmary#aucklandfestivalofquilts#libertyfabric
I was lucky enough to win 2nd prize at the Auckland Festival of Quilts for the amateur small category. It was the first time I have ever entered so really didnt expect to win anything! I'll show my prize I the next post, cause it's amazing. #aucklandfestivalofquilts
