Day18: one regret ~ this prompt has been weighing heavily on me since I first saw it. August is a ominous time for me to be reminded of regrets. KonMari has given me lots of time to ruminate and the opportunity to dig up some bones. I found this letter written to me on August 24, 1998. It stung to read those words again and it reminded me of my biggest mistake but over the course of this day I've shifted my perspective. Yes I have made really enormous mistakes that hurt a lot of people but if I am to choose one regret ~ IT IS the regret itself and the way I've punished myself with feelings of shame for too many minutes, hours, days and years. As I burned this letter tonight I release myself from all of that. A wise man told me that your mistake will not destroy you; however, your guilt can and will destroy everything if you let it. I won't let it. 🔥#risingsun #nofilter#augustbreak2017
day19. metal. #augustbreak2017 I think this was the first piece of real furniture I ever bought; a wrought iron bedframe. After having slept on the floor in the walk in closet in my first apartment after college (because that studio seemed too big and scary), this felt like such a splurge! It serves us well in the guestroom now.
Day 19: Metal #augustbreak2017 Found on our walk. Maintaining consistency in the walk schedule while on holidays; tomorrow we rise earlier as it was a warm walk today and the smoke from the continuing BC Wildfires rolled in.
Two birds/one stone snap. Found some #prettyweeds climbing up the #metal headboard I found in the alley a while back. (It is due to be painted purple and added to a flower "bed" any day now. 😉) #augustbreak2017
#augustbreak2017#whereilive well, kind of. I lived here til i was 27. Now i/we live behind where im standing, and my kids are the 7th generation to live there. Currently trying to figure out where ill end up.
Day 17 - Daisies. I was planning on driving to this spot full of Black Eyed Susans to take pictures, but haven't had time. My intent has put me 'behind' in August Break. Instead I will share this daisy-ish flower I made with alcohol ink awhile back. #augustbreak2017
