Accessory work, accessory work, accessory work. • Not as sexy as lifting heavy weights, but also needed. • In my case, I desperately need accessory work if I want to lift heavy weights. • 2017 was a very disappointing year to me when it comes to CrossFit. • Too much “life” going on and it was hard for me to stay focused. • And as PRs stopped happening, I started doubting myself, and a snowball effect of negativity just made things worse. • Yep. It happens to people like me too. • It takes conscious effort to get back on track. • I don’t joke about using affirmations to stay focused. I use them every single day. • Even if I don’t see the effects right away, I’m sowing the seeds. • Sooner or later, they bloom.
#bohoberrychallenge , November, day 18. 🥅 I still need to write down my goals for 2018. 🥅 On this planner, I’ll be writing the ones related to @crossfit . 🥅 I’ve been using this Erin Condren hardbound to write down my workouts from @thebaileyprogram as well as all accessory work I do. 🥅 Even though I input the results in @beyondthewhiteboard afterwards, I still prefer to use paper and pen during the workouts. 🥅 I’ll probably miss all my CF goals for 2017 (my body weight overhead, double-unders, and pull-ups), but this doesn’t mean I can’t make them happen in 2018 and MORE!
This week’s #humblehustler is Natalie Anne Gross. After you read below you’ll see she needs no introduction.💪🏽 - Nat not only offers online training but she is very cognizant of the fact that true healing and transformation comes from working inside out and she is very open about her life struggles which have included anxiety, depression, addiction & the death of her high school boyfriend and then her brother. - Social media nowadays tends to push us to display only the happy parts of our lives and a profile like this is so refreshing in the world of ass plastering and product promotion in order to gain followers. - It's a breath of fresh air to read about Natalie's struggles and how she has pushed through them and her reasoning behind her passion for fitness which unfortunately was propelled by the death of her brother. When Cpl. Frank R. Gross died, Natalie began to turn to booze in order to medicate the immense pain she was experiencing. - One day she woke up and realized she was beginning to drink all day and she knew that a decision had to be made so she decided to set the bar high and compete in a fitness competition. - Fast forward a few years. Ms. Gross had always wanted to start an online fitness company however considering her bouts of social anxiety and fear of what others thought of her, day after day, she put it off. In the past two years, Natalie has grown tremendously as a person and finally decided to put herself out there and begin a company called "Bitchin' Betties" to honor her brother and to help other people who may experience issues mentioned above. She is especially sympathetic to military causes as her brother was KIA serving the United States Army on July 16, 2011. Her brother and herself shared a true love for bodyweight high intensity interval training and Natalie employs that into much of her training. - Like what you read above 👆🏼👆🏼👆🏼be sure to follow @natgeofit - Do you want to be featured as the next
Today’s toys. ••• The WOD was Jack. ••• I scaled it because the weight for the push press was a lot more than I can handle. ••• I took advantage of it to work on the speed of my box jumps too. ••• I did better than last time with an extra match. ••• Looking forward being able to do it with a 20 in Box soon. ••• Also did @romwod again for the first time in weeks. ••• My hamstrings needed it.
