I have been traveling a lot lately...well, a lot for me, and while all this to-ing and fro-ing (my partner @morebrainz & I have been ferrying our percussionist son to his music performance college auditions across the country) has absorbed ALL of my time to create much of anything these last 3 weeks, it mos def has been an incredible source of creative inspiration for me that I am just chomping at the bit to use in my studio! From amazing book stores and mind-blowing donuts in Denton, Texas, to train rides and my version of ice dancing in Chicago, Illinois, the world around me has just been so engaging! Maybe it's because I am a parent of a child about to shove off into life on his own, but life has just felt extra vivid, everything in high definition and Dolby Surround Sound. So, my Have Color Will Travel social media content and posting habits may be a bit different from here on out because after these last three weeks of travel I'm pretty sure I'm a different person. There will still be loads of coloring, doodling, WIPs of my next coloring books, and news of local coloring events, but there is also going to be more of whatever it is that I can't help but share about and there may be longer periods between posts because, well, it's hard to nerd out on life with one's phone in one's hand, or at least it is for me😉 As a desert rat from Phoenix, Arizona, I was so proud of myself for weathering record breaking snow in the windy city last week with such enthusiasm! I am, or I thought I was, terrified of extreme winter weather, but apparently if I can still dance in it, I'll survive (and hand warmers didn't hurt, too!). Last week just proved to me again that comfort zones, creative ones especially, aren't really all that comfortable and may actually be limitations on our lives in disguise... °▪°▪°▪°▪°▪°▪° #havecolorwithtravel#chicago#snow#kickline#nerdlife#travel#comfortzone#creativity#dance#dancing#beyou#limitations#honesty
Just because I post fitness and inspirational shit DOESN’T mean I don’t still have d o u b t or f e a r. In fact, I always have it. The dark demon that is depression will always haunt me. “You’re not good enough” “No one cares” “Who is going to listen to you?” It always has been there and will continue to be. I just have to CHOOSE to not listen to it. I AM better than that. I KNOW that I have just as much potential as those I look up to in all aspects of life. The person it starts with and matters most is you so if you’re not going to believe it, who will?
✨One thing out of one million that I LOVE about becoming a coach is the amazing connections I’ve made with other women through social media and the friendships I’ve created that feel actually genuine 👯♂️ Society makes us feel like we’re all in this game battling and competing against one another making us compare our bodies, our lifestyle, and our overall wellbeing to the girl next to us🤭 But lately it’s been a different scene on social media, girls are encouraging each other, asking about one another’s stories, spreading love and gratitude, cheering on each others victories.. it’s honestly a blessing to see ♥️ Being someone who has struggled so much in such a short span of time I LOVE that I get messages daily encouraging me to stay in recovery and remember my why♥️ I encourage YOU to spread the positivity, cheer on someone you look up to, share your story, ask how someone is doing with theirs, go like and comment a million times on someone’s photo, be a good person ♥️ I thank God that I became a coach and have plunged into the social media industry because it’s YOU GUYS that have held me accountable in my recovery ♥️ #edwarrior#edrecovery#support#cheer#supportgirls#socialmediainfluencer#socialmedia#girlboss#makingadifference#encouraging#wereinthistogether#girlpower#girlsofinstgram#workingonme#workingonus#transform#beyou#beyoutiful
WAKANDA FOREVER - This past weekend was truly magic to witness so much glow for the release of @blackpanther around the world! Big special thanks to @_afrozack @aishatram @embraceyourfrizzique who organised sold out cinemas for the screening of #blackpanther in Melbourne. Also to @kendricklamar for buying three packed out cinemas for young black people to attend and anyone else who has held space and supported young black youth by gifting tickets to watch the screening! Black Panther is more than a blockbuster movie. It's the first film superheroes are black and not depicted as the villain, slave or drug dealer. Representation matters and it is vital that we shift the paradigm!!!! We are loving our socials being saturated with Wakanda fever, a time to empower, celebrate and validate the beauty and culture of black people around the world! 📸 @atongatem #be#beyou#blackpanther#reclaim#culture#wakandaforever#blackexcellence#blackgirlmagic#changethescript#love
