This morning we were at the hospital with my son due to his histamine intolerance, tiredness, stomach-ache and nutrient deficiences. He eats to little due to his histamine intolerance. Every time when you start eating histamine is produced to start the digestion process and stomach acid production. Then he loses his appetite due to the histamine production. It's a negative circle. By meditation this can be changed, however my son thinks it is boring to meditate. He is stuck into bad habits that he doesn't want to break.  My struggle is therefore, how do I change the mind of a 15-year-old-boy to do what might be necessary to become healthy?  We are progressing, however I would love a faster progression due to faster switches. A c gene variant is associated with higher intakes of total energy and dietary fat, as well as greater snacking in children and adults, greater hunger and a higher prevalence of eating large amounts of food. FTO often called the FAT gene is Fat-mass-and-obesity-associated (FTO) gene is present at high levels in several metabolically active tissues,  including, heart, kidney, and adipose tissue, and is most highly expressed in the brain, particularly in the hypothalamus which is concerned with the regulation of arousal, appetite, temperature, autonomic function and endocrine systems. It has been suggested that the FTO gene plays a role in appetite regulation and that it is associated with energy expenditure, energy intake and diminished satiety. Certain gene variant have been associated with  higher BMI, body fat percentage and waist circumference, especially in individuals with a sedentary lifestyle. Overweight individuals with the A allele with this variants are at increased risk for insulin resistance and diabetes, especially when there is a high fat intake.
