This is it. I keep going between “this is ALL we have left” and “ugh, we still have ALL of this left??!” It feel like time is standing still and we are barely inching along, I hate it (patience is not a quality I possess). I really just want a quick fix but I know that’s not why we are on this journey. For those who care, the red line is the point where we decided we are comfortable pulling from our savings to make one large, final payment ($10,000). We are fairly confident at that point we will still have enough left for our fully funded EF.
Do you all see the light shining through my Pyrex? No, I’m not attempting to be artsy. This means my freezer is empty! I know, I know. Me, the not so guru of meal planning is out of freezer meals. Well, this is real life. We plan for one thing and stuff happens and the plan can’t be followed. (It pains me to say that because I always have a plan). But you know what? I used these casseroles as intended- for those busy nights instead of ordering out- I just used them sooner than later. So now I’m working on my March menu and coming up with a plan to refill/restock these suckers with food. . . . . . #mealplanning#freezercooking#freezermeals#budgetmeals#onceamonthmeals#onceamonthcooking#momlife#workingmom#pyrex#howmanytimescanisayplan
It’s way cold in Cali right now so I took my son to the mall last night to burn some energy. He recently decided he hates being in his stroller so I let him out and he immediately found one of these smart carts that someone had abandoned. I was super grossed out by how dirty the cup holder was and could only imagine the number of jam-hand kids who had touched it and the number of germs ALL OVER this thing but he was pumped. I honestly didn’t realize you get money back for returning them but the return was near where we parked so it seemed like the nice thing to do and BOOM I got $.50 back so I made money at the mall last night and my kid was exhausted 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Why? Because your freezer enables you to batch cook & bake and freeze reduced price/sale items. We actually have two fridges and while that may seem excessive to some, the second fridge has saved us more than it costs to run it. I keep mine stocked with reduced to clear items like meat, dairy/non dairy, frozen fruit bought when on special, and pre-cooked or prepped meals like meatballs, soups, pasta sauces, pesto, and crumbed steaks. I also freeze the last bits and pieces of bread and bread rolls so I can blitz my own bread crumbs - to save money and also avoid the additive laden shop-bought varieties. The other important thing I freeze is baked goods - cookies, cakes and slices are always on hand for lunchboxes or when mumma needs a sugar fix! #frugalliving#wholefoods#budgetmeals#mumhacks#savemoney#savetime#eatwelleatsmart#feedyourfamily#seventipssevendays
This my CBF version of kids dinner. The broccoli is raw, as they prefer it that way. I had reduced pork chops that needed to be cooked so we have pork, tuna, broccoli, cucumber and strawberry. All guaranteed to be eaten. I had a pork chop. I’ve over eaten all day, have been terrible with my food for last 2-3 weeks. Have gained 600gm so tomorrow, it’s time to whoop my ass into gear. 100% of my eating issues is tied in with my emotions. I’m stressed and worried about little miss, she gets her MRI next week. Hopefully, we now have to go in to see the anaesthetist on Thursday as she is so young they want to meet her first to determine if she has to be sent to Lady Cilento or not to go under the general. #budgetmeals#budgetmum#mealsonabudget#didowife#fifowife#cbfmeals#cbftonight#scaredshitless
