Rain and fog on the Whistler BC mountainside. @getolympus E-M1 MK II and 300mm lens #canada #capturingwhistler #fog #mountains
If you could see any place from above, what would it be? I think I'd choose Botswana's Okavango Delta, observing as animals tore across Africa in a grand migration. To capture that, I'd bring a DSLR, a variety of lenses, and an action cam. I’ve been a fan of action cams since I first used one to shoot a Discovery Channel show 6 years ago in Alaska. This month, I’ve been field testing @getolympus gear, and learned there’s a new shockproof, waterproof camera on the market: the TG-Tracker. It captures high quality photo & video in a small package, and its wide angle allows me to share adventure with you--powder-filled heli tours included. 🚁 #capturingwhistler
Greetings from Whistler Blackcomb, proving winter is not over yet! Our customer Matthew Smith flew the OSC flag on the Horstman Glacier over his spring break! Thanks for the love. #springskiing @whistlerblackcomb #thegoodsreport #inthenameofwinter #skibc #whistler #capturingwhistler #britishcolumbia
On our way home from Whistler, the weather got better. We had to ask our driver to pull over at Porteau Cove to take this picture. Had so much fun for a few days with @getolympus and the #em1mark2. What a jewel, I was so sad when I had to return all the great lens and camera. #capturingwhistler
I’ll do anything to get the shot. I’ll scale trees, and mountains, and ancient ruins. I’ll swim with sharks, and atop giant waterfalls, and in water that hovers just above freezing. Honestly, I’ll plop down in the middle of whatever chaos is around if it means I can get the shot to you. When I teamed up with @getolympus this month, I wanted to make sure their cameras held up to the stresses of an adventurous lifestyle. I shot in heavy rain; I propped my camera up in snow banks as a “tripod’; I even shot with the OM-D E-M1 Mark II while ziplining and snowmobiling. Solid. #capturingwhistler
It was such a thrill to spent 3 days in Whistler, BC Canada with @getolympus, an amazing crew and some talented photographers, Joe @joe_diflorio, Mason @getmased, Reid @cfk and Mark @mmphotography1. We had the chance of field tested their new Micro 4/3 OM-D E-M1 II under the rain and snow. I was very impressed with the quality of the M.ZD 300mm F4. This is a great lens, coupled with the O-MD E-M1's Pro-Capture is a perfect couple for action shot. The lens IS sync with the IBIS is very effective. . ✦✦ ✦✦ ✦✦ Camera: #olympusomd #em1mark2 Lens: #mzuikolens #300mmf4pro ✦✦ ✦✦ ✦✦ @GetOlympus #olympusinspired #capturingwhistler
Nighttime on the Brandywine. I've been thinking about the relationship between photography and painting. With the brush we pull forward detail and clarity, we enhance the subject of our opinion, we build as tho with clay. However, with a camera - and its powerfully indiscriminate clarity, we have to push or crop areas into obscurity, as tho carving to reveal our subjects from the marble of the world. The fun of being digital, is we get to do both... @getolympus #capturingwhistler with the e-m1 mark ii
Last time La Patrouille de France came to the US was 31 years ago. This year there are back to celebrate the 100 years of the USA entering WWI. They flew over San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge on Saturday April 15, 2017. #patrouilledefrance🇫🇷 #pafustour17 #pafustour ✦✦ ✦✦ Camera: #olympusomd Lens: #sigma #50500mm Camera Bag: #fstopgear Filters: NiSi Filter System :

#like4follow Early in our visit to Whistler with @getolympus, who I've teamed up with to test the new OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera, we drove to Squamish to test the camera's Pro Capture setting while shooting birds. I didn't feel I was successful so I wanted another chance and a visit to the Trainwreck in the woods provided just that when @mikaikarl consented to jump from car to car for me as I fired away with the M.ZUIKO 12-100mm f/4.0 PRO lens. I typically don't use lenses which aren't f/2.8 or under so I was impressed by how well it performed when I needed it to, easily catching Mikai mid-jump between the cars. There's an alternate shot in Stories still visible if you want to see the great light we had!🎨 As for the wreck itself, which you can also see more of in Stories, it's the site of seven twisted train cars from an accident that occurred in 1956 in a rock cut not too far from the present resting site, caused by a crew speeding too fast through an area of tracks which were under repair. PGE Railway wasn't able to budge the fourth engine which had turned a rail or the subsequent wrecked boxcars, so a local family came in with their logging equipment, cleared the tracks and moved the wrecked boxcars to their present location right on the Cheakamus River, spread out over a kilometer under soaring evergreen trees. To visit, hike in from a trailhead close to the former Olympic Village. The city has deemed the site an Authorized Graffiti Area, encouraging artists to leave their mark on the metal surfaces as they naturally decay. It makes for a fascinating juxtaposition between the man-made & the natural.🌲 #capturingwhistler #sp
@Regrann from @getolympus: Mind blown 😳 @GetOlympus' OM-D E-M1 Mark II's incredible image stabilization blew me away. I took this photo with a 1-second exposure standing on a slippery rock and it turned out tac sharp. Not only is the camera light but now I don't need a tripod unless I'm doing long exposures of 15 second or more! #capturingwhistler
It's best to stay on track ⚠🚂 . . It was such a privilege to be invited by @getolympus to the Whistler Ski & Snowboard Festival. After all, I'm not even Instagram famous ❕As you may have noticed, I'm a HUGE fan of Olympus cameras and have been since I picked up my first OM-10 11 years ago. I know they say, "The best camera is the one you have with you." If you're tired of carrying around that big old DSLR I suggest you try the PEN or OM-D line-up ! 📷 OM-D E-M1 MKll W/ M.Zuiko 12-100mm F4 PRO. #capturingwhistler

I teamed up with @getolympus to test the OM-D E-M1 Mark II in stunning Whistler. As we were flying over the mountains in a helicopter, I was shooting with the 12-100mm, which worked so well for that situation, and thinking of one of my favorite photographers. The black and white landscape photos that Ansel Adams captured were an early influence in my desire to one day become a photographer and it's rare that I'm in the kind of jaw dropping nature that characterizes British Columbia, without thinking of his work. His work was also influential in making me feel protective of the planet and in prompting me to find ways as an adult to be an active participant in conservation. More on that in a later post but I wanted to say thank you to Olympus for bringing me to such a beautiful place to shoot, with such great equipment and an amazing crew, so for a few days I could remember those early influences. #capturingwhistler #sp

. Picture by: @rachelroams . You know how sometimes when you take a photo it doesn’t come close to doing a moment justice? Maybe it’s a sunset you try to capture that comes out duller than you experienced in real life. Or perhaps it’s a portrait, where the glimmer of your loved ones fails to shine through in the image. That, for me, is one of the greatest drawbacks of photography. It’s tough to truly capture the magic of a moment. Partnering with @getolympus last week showed me that life’s true brilliance can indeed come through without a heavy-handed edit. This shot of Black Tusk in Whistler was captured true-to-life with the OM-D E-M1 Mark II & M.ZUIKO 12-100mm f4 Pro lens. No crazy edit necessary. #capturingwhistler .
