we are most afraid of making the DECISION to take a leap. once we actually leap, we are okay. we are afraid of letting go. the mind thinks more about what it has to lose than what it has to gain, because what we currently have is what we KNOW. even if what we currently are experiencing is painful, there is comfort in the habits and patterns that we are used to living with. what comes after the leap, what life would be like without these habits, even though it might be way better than what we currently experience, is unknown. . letting go of our old story is the most difficult part of creating a new one. leap, my love. who knows what amazingness awaits ✨
November 12 —> December 17 100kg fed state —> 94kg diet state 35 day minicut went well. I think I lost about 4kg of fat. Certainly my abs look sharper, I am the living proof that abs are made in the kitchen. I store most of my bodyfat around my abs, pure genetict and nothing I can do about that except losing fat. I do look slightly flat in my chest and arms in the right picture, probably due to the diet-state in wich the pic is taken, but after one holiday meal i’ll fill out. Now a deload-week and than back to high-volume training so I can enjoy the holidays without any guilt 🎉🤗
Hey friends! Sorry for being MIA for the past few days, I have been enjoying much needed time with my family and church family❤️. But I wanted to hop on here and rant for a hot minute. You don’t have to be like anyone else, you don’t have to look a certain way or dress a certain way like everyone else. Be yourself. I like to lift weights. I get a lot of heat for it from a lot of people, because they believe I’m going to become “manly”. I appreciate the concern, but I don’t lift weights because I’m power hungry or want to become big. I found CrossFit at a very low point in my life. Lifting weights gives me joy, it gives me confidence, and it’s a safe place for me. I may look different, I may be more muscular, but that’s okay! Because God uniquely handmade me to be ME- not anyone else but myself. Stop trying to fit inside a box you were not created to fit into in the first place. I just wanted to go on that mini rant because so many people are constantly trying to become someone they are not, and it makes me sad. You DONT have to sow your wild oats, you DONT have to drink, party, or dress scandalously. Be yourself and honor God. That is enough.
Okay so... I hate taking selfies. But I want to highlight a few things. • • First, hi bicep! #guns 😏 I’ve never really had built arms, probably because I don’t really enjoy training them, but I’ve been working on them more often and yay #progress!! • • Second, I am not in “peak” shape. I decided to really enjoy my holidays this year, and I 100% have been. I’ve been saying yes to every party and dinner/brunch/whatever invitation, and therefore I’ve been perhaps *over* indulging. That being said, I like how I look! I’ve taken advantage of all the excess carbs and built some muscle and PRd my deadlift and jerk! The point of all that is, if you can learn how to manipulate your training and nutrient timing to maximize your indulgences, they can actually work for you. • That brings me to today’s blog post 👉 All you need to know about carbs and insulin. Link in bio. Enjoy!
Soooo FAT BURNING 🔥 A lot of our goals seem to fall into burning more fat, getting leaner, or even just staying lean. I tell all of my clients that come to me for nutrition consulting, that there ISN'T any shortcuts to the goals we have for that. 😩 HOWEVER! 😳 there are different techniques you can apply, in helping you body become a better fat burn machine. . 🏋🏼♂️ HIIT TRAINING: High intensity interval training is a technique used a lot in training. It's sets of high intensity efforts, with short rests in between. The result? Besides the massive calories burned, your body pulls oxygen into the blood stream even hours after, which aids in the fat burning process. . 🍞LOW CARB INTAKE: With a lower carb intake, and done the right way, your body not only won't store unused glycogen as fat, but it will allow our bodies to focus on fat as its fuel source. This TOO, can be implemented into how you eat prior to low intensity training. . 🚴🏽♂️ AEROBIC EXERCISE: We've all heard of the fat burn zone right?!? 😜 Well that happens at a lower intensity. Our bodies best utilize fat as a fuel source when the intensity is at a lower level. This too allows us to become better fat burning machines all around. . 🍽 INTERMITTENT FASTING: This is a toughy. It's going massive lengths with zero calorie/food intake. This is only suggested if our hormones are in a healthy place. Fasting builds a stronger energy system within our cells that burn fat specifically. . SO, let's have fun with things. This life isn't a race, but a journey we are on. Be patient and let's enjoy! . . .
Fishball Noodles. 40B=$1.23 Michelin Bib Gourmand dish. Unfortunately sold out of their fish wontons. Broth very boring, fishballs not that good, but did like the noodles. Probably not enough to recommend this though.
