Over that past week and a half I've spent countless hours either driving in a car or flying in an airplane. I've covered over 11,000 miles! That's a ton of time where my body was limited to the amount of movement it could do. Not to mention all the motionless hours recovering from "jet lag." However, I didn't call the last 10 days a wash. Instead, I got creative in the ways I moved my body a bit more, outside of a few workout sessions, to compensate for all the inactive time. The most beneficial way has been analyzing my commute to work and realizing I can either, walk, run, or bike to work. I'm lucky in the sense that I only live about 3 miles from the office so a 45min walk, 20min run or 10min bike ride helps add more activity to my day! So far I've ran to and from work (with my backpack full of everything I need for the day) 2 times, biked once and walked once. I'm excited to keep up this super simple change in my commute. I challenge you to analyze your commute. Maybe you live more than 3 miles from work, but I bet you could find somewhere to park for free about a mile away from the office and walk that mile to and from work every day.
