Meet Your Psych Society Officers! 😄 Name: Kelsy Harris Position: Study Group Coordinator Year: Senior Career Goals: My current career goals is to go into social work. I plan on getting my masters in social work right after I get my bachelors here at CSUMB. After getting my masters, I intend on working for CPS for at least two years following that. I’ve changed my career goals a few times over the last few years, but I know that my main goal is to help “broken” families in any way that I can. Fun Fact: I spent roughly two years learning hula dancing and the Hawai’ian language in late elementary school.

I really want to help out those who faced traumatic experiences, in the future I hope to establish a Counseling Center in a low-income community. Fun Fact: I met Maite Perroni from RBD and the Lemonade Mouth cast.

I got into painting in high school and found it very therapeutic rather than going to counseling which I had to do for a certain situation in my life. I’ve always had a passion for art and psychology and as soon as I found out that there was a career that married both I was interested. My goal is to help people that are going through situations and need help. Fun fact: I am a painter, have been since high school. I came out in Tidings Newspaper and Telemundo Tv.

Fun Fact: I love photography, and I mainly taking pictures of others and nature. I use my phone to take most of my pictures but other times use my dad’s old Canon film camera.

Eventually, I dream of becoming an administrator for a district or county so that I can change the broken parts of the special education system. Fun Fact: I have done musical theater for 14 years. The last musical that I was in was The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which was during the summer break.

I have a passion for working with children and want to emphasis on working with individuals with learning or developmental disorders such as autism-spectrum disorder. I am a strong believer in inclusion as a disability/mental health advocate and believe everyone has the right to feel accepted and valued. Fun Fact: I received my second AA degree in Fashion Design! I love anything that has to do with fashion, art, and self-expression.
