'The Swallow,’ by Mano Khalil is a fiction feature about Mira, a young Swiss in search of her roots, travels to Iraqi Kurdistan, where she is confronted with terrorism, war crimes and street justice, but also with love. The film depicts two of life’s tragedies: not having our wishes fulfilled and having them fulfilled. Out of this World is a newly restored 1954 documentary feature by Lowell Thomas, documenting his fascinating travels through Tibet nearly seven decades ago before the Red Chinese moved in. ‘Interchange,’ by Dain Iskander Said is a Malaysian-Indonesian fiction feature that is based on events triggered by a true incident a century ago when Norwegian explorer Carl Lumholtz travelled through central Borneo between 1913 and 1917.
