Ok, finally took pics. If you follow @africancustomknives (and if you don’t, you should), you’ve probably seen the pictures they’ve recently posted of George Miller’s Small Titanium Liner Locks. I met George @gfmknives in New York in November and spent a lot of time talking to him about his knives. I also ended up buying a couple from him. He does outstanding artistic work on his knives, regularly using exotic materials and steels. When I saw @africancustomknives post this one, I knew I had to have it. They are so awesome to deal with and worked to get it to me quickly. Damascus blade, bolsters, and backspacer, titanium liners, and mammoth molar scales. I met the one of the owners, Nathan, in New York as well, and he and his brother are top notch guys (they actually helped George process my payment to him). Anyway, amazing knife from a gifted maker purchases through an outstanding retailer. #edc#southafricanknives#georgemuller#gfmknives#knife#customknife#knifelife#africancustomknives#knifecommunity#knifeporn
Do you ever wonder how knife makers test the hardness of their knives? Here's the secret, A diamant tip is penetrating in steel and how deep it penetrate is how hard steel is. Less penetrate is harder steel and more rockwell, 62 is very hard. Today I was testing hardness of my workhorse in cpm 4v.
