Northern Hawk Owls have been tough to come by this winter (as in I've seen none) so I'm pulling from the archives here. This owl was an unexpected find on the Icefields Parkway at the Columbia Icefield a few years ago.
Today’s featured Canadian location is Mount Assiniboine located on the Great Divide, on the British Columbia/Alberta border. Mount Assiniboine, at 11, 870ft, is the tallest mountain in the southern region of the Canadian Rockies. The mountains distinctive pyramid shape had led to it being referred to as the ‘Matterhorn of North America’. Visible for many miles in every direction, it soars well above other nearby peaks, and serves as the focal point for Mount Assiniboine Provincial Park. Mount Assiniboine can also be seen in the FlyOver Canada experience! 📷: @calsnape #flyovercanada#mycanada#pursuitlife#mountassiniboine
Producing a natural ice rink in the winter, Lake Louise was named after Princess Louise Caroline Alberta. While the area has been popularized in recent years, it remains one of the most worthwhile landscapes to see in person.
