I know only too well how easy it is to take shortcuts, but I also know how easy it can be to nourish my body in the best way possible - sweet potato toast with avo, spinach, cottage cheese, chilli, S&P for lunch took virtually the same amount of time it takes to make anything else on toast!! Looking after my body like this, as well as pumping my blood full of amazing whole food nutrients with my magic beans errrry single morning is super comforting. Happy from the inside out! We all know who the energy vampires, neg ferrets, mood hoover’s, fun sponges are..... πŸ™ˆ we’ve all got these people in our lives, our families, our social media feeds... I always feel a little bit bad for them, because once you start on PD you realise how much time so many people waste on just being miserable! It’s no secret how much I love personal development, and I’m so excited that this week I have been doing My Miracle Morning routine again! 🀸‍β™€οΈπŸ€Έ‍β™€οΈπŸ€Έ‍♀️ . I got “busy” [ I hate that word πŸ™„ - you’ll always find someone with more on their plate - it’s an *EXCUSE* word] with a FIFO husband, a newborn and two toddlers, but now I am back to filling up my cup from 4:30am so I can pour into all the other areas of my life that are important to me - family, business, studying. I’ve been so much more present and patient with my little ones, I’ve completed 2 assignments [and 2 subjects!] this week, we have so much fun and momentum happening in my business, which will only lead to more growth and a 2018 to remember! 😍 I’m listening to TMM this time around, much as I love reading my books, I like to multitask [at 4:30amπŸ™„πŸ˜†] and Audible is the answer πŸ™ŒπŸΌ always always keen to hear and learn and grow so if you have any PD books that you love, please let me know! πŸ“²πŸ–€

This mornings training session was predominantly upper body and core. I have niggly knee, tight ITB & Adductor so I’m staying off it as much as I can and doing loads of physio roller and trigger point to release them. So in turn upper body it is! I reckon they’re a rare breed those people who wake and be productive 3 hours before everyone else. I aspire to be one of them - I’m just absolutely not yet!! What I know however, is that it starts with ‘taking back the morning.’ β°πŸ™ŒπŸ˜‰ In my case it’ll also start with getting myself to bed at least 1.5 hours earlier than I currently do... but here’s some guidelines for creating a solid early morning routine: ✨ Set your alarm. Wake yourself up! Use Mel Robbins’ method 5-4-3-2-1-GO to launch yourself out of bed (google it, it’s worth it!). Another tip is to put your alarm out of reach. This will help you wake up that much faster. ✨ Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the no. 1 meal that we should NOT skip. By loading up on protein (& coffee!), you’ll already have plenty of energy to begin your day. And with so many yummy quick options, who doesn’t love breakfast? ✨ Make a to-do list. By listing projects, errands, and activities, you will be more organized and focus on the specifics to tackle each day. I write my list on my A3 planner pad that sits on my kitchen bench so I can scribble on it as I go about my day. ✨ Exercise. I know this one ain’t always easy or even possible when we have other commitments like little kids, but exercising in the morning helps us become more focused. Also, a morning shower should be earned, so why not break a sweat? The gym crèche is invaluable for me! ✨ Catch up on the news. This is one that I need to work on!! I barely watch the news these days and I’m rarely allowed the luxury of watching the morning show - I wish! However, whether you catch up via newspaper, television, or social media, it’s always good to be informed on what’s happening in the world. ✨ Open your blinds. Our bodies are sensitive to light, which explains why it’s hard to sleep in once we see the sun, however tired we may be. Opening your blinds before you go to sleep will help you wake up naturally or will trick you into
Tonight I celebrated finishing my 8 week shred challenge with a gooey choc pudding and a vino or two or three! πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ I have def NOT been as strict with myself as I was last time I did the JBT shred, and I know I never really had a whole lot to ‘shred’... but the challenge was never about weight loss for me. Having some guidelines has made me give up my excuses and get back into the gym consistently, and also give up crap dead foods like wheat breads and packaged goods - mostly! Smartest thing : Nearly 2 years ago I saw this guy sun baking next to the pool at GLNG Curtis Island . Wearing a banana hammock looking super hot. I told my mate "I'm going to talk to him" she replied "he has a hairy chest" . So for a few days I stalked him (or watched him closely), but I had no confidence to talk to him . I  remember walking into the Mess (dinning hall) and filling my plate up with 2kg of salmon, then I went to go sit by my mate but I saw him there with his work mates in the direct path of my mates table! I had to walk around the whole mess to sit next to her so he wouldn't see my 2kg plate of salmon! But the smartest thing I did was smash down 6pack of Great Northerns and wished he "happy New Years!" 3x before he came and spoke to me . So it was my 33rd bday yesterday. The husband was away at the mine and will be until Christmas, which is amazing for the kids as he has only been home for 2 of our eldest Christmas. For me I really struggle to enjoy my birthday without him. I love to have him home with me and celebrate with me, let’s be honest to make me feel special. Also to teach the kiddies on how to treat Mumma on her special day. I feel that as a daddy it’s his job to teach them to make an effort for their Mumma, and then in the future we are teaching them to make an effort for the special people in their lives. I would love them to be awesome partners (eventually 😱) that treat their loved ones and make them feel appreciated and special. So with him away on days like this it’s hard for him to do that unless he is organised and leaves hidden things for me to find on the day. Which let’s face its take some pre organisation! Which he has learnt to do over the many years of Fifo life. It’s not really the same as being in person. And he may have forgotten to get his butt into gear this year 😐. I know he feels bad and we will celebrate when he gets home at Christmas, he knows how I feel about birthdays & let’s not forget Mother’s Day!! It’s just so much better when he is here in person. I love him and miss him and just for those special moments want him to be here. But I guess you have to take the good with the bad in Fifo life.
