Yesterday was a truly humbling experience by mother nature. My down wind paddle turned real nasty, real quick 30 knot gusts and 2 m rolling swell made for absolute chaos. Never underestimate the big ocean, she has a habit of making you feel really small. Sorry to poor @arlie for giving her a heart attack and thanks for being the best safety crew and picking up the pieces at the end.
Open prep, another layer to kipping (butterfly). 🚨WARNING: Please do not try teaching yourself the butterfly kip by watching videos. Seek out a coach that has some tenure teaching this movement. Trying to teach yourself this movement is the technical equivalent to changing your own spark plugs (for the first time) with a box of tacks and a speedo. You're likely going to hurt yourself and look silly doing it. ♿🤡 🤨Critiquing myself a bit here. I'd like to see more activation through the legs and the feet staying together in the arch. Aside that, I'm happy with the practical application of the techniques we've been training and posting about. 1️⃣ Hollow - tight with strong transfer of energy forward and up - legs together staying active 2️⃣ Arch (little sloppy) - active core stretch, legs straight - strong drive through the lats into the hollow ⚠️Disclaimer: this movement is used specifically for speed and intensity.
