70Kg x 3. Started with the bar over mid foot as I start with it closer to me usually. The plates in this gym make me a bit closer to the floor too so that changed things a bit. Was thinking about pulling my lats back but doesn't really look like it here. Think it's because the start position is slightly closer to the ground. • There are proper calibrated competition plates but they're owned by the powerlifting club that is ran from the gym. Owner said to me before that it's £25 a month to join & they train 3 times a week. May well look in to joining at some point, not quite sure what membership entails so will find out more over time. • Also...my chalk always ends up on my πŸ‘πŸ€¦πŸΌ‍β™€οΈπŸ€·‍♀️
My thoracic warm up πŸ‘ŠπŸ»: So I shared this on my story the other day, but it may be useful to share here since we all live in this desk-sitting, rounded-shoulder, head-down world. And if you bench, curl, or lift a lot, your T-spine starts to take a big hit. My physical therapist gave me this routine to relieve tightness in my mid to upper back, but can carry over to much more. I follow this closely when feeling stiff before big lifts, or when I feel like I need to improve my thoracic mobility (ok - all the time πŸ˜›, it was actually suggested by my PT to work on thoracic mobility for 15 minutes a day). And this series specifically helps open up the T-spine and loosen tight muscles — tightness that might hinder getting into an upright/correct position (think squat, deadlift, and the obvious arch for bench). In short, pretty important to reduce risk of future injuries. I usually follow up with some lower lat activation to get my body more upright. I’m curious, what works for you?
