It took time to teach Shylo that people are kind. It's still an ongoing process to expose him to individuals from all walks of life, from showing him people who live in skyscrapers to people who camp out in the remotest of areas. We hoped that he would just flourish and find comfort in people, but sadly when people see him, some are not as welcoming to him as we are and it confuses him. He's made tremendous progress within the almost 2 years we've had him, yet he is still shy. Watching warily from a distance, startled by sudden movements, unsure about loud noises, and cautious about different ground textures. We knew it would be a long and involved challenge, but one that we took on with open arms, so to those of you who say people with dogs will never understand what it is like to have children, I say 🖕🏾off because Shylo is my baby and I will continue to care for him and show him the world is safe. Even if he only believes the world is just us.
