A Sheraton rosewood, satinwood & mahogany cabinet, England, circa 1800, in the manner of Seddon & Co., London. . Veneered in expensive and fashionable imported hardwoods, mounted with a bronzed neoclassical acanthus frieze and gilt-brass-wire-inset doors, this cabinet was clearly envisaged to display a collection of precious objects, given the depth of vision enabled by the curved sides and the extraordinarily luxurious use of the same specimen timbers for the interior. The shelves are veneered in satinwood, as are the insides of the door-frames, and the backboard is of richly figured mahogany, which invites closer inspection of the contents, whether porcelain, antiquities, shells or bronzes. .
🥊Small Jobs🥊 **First off: I’ve had a rough start to the year. Lost a friend, a cousin and my pet. I won’t burden you with the weight of the details but losing friends, family and pets/family is hard. So, I apologize for not posting as much but I’m gonna get back into the swing of things! Just hang with me. And thanks for everyone who has hung with me since day one! It means a lot! All of y’all help more than you know, with your likes & comments! The support doesn’t go unnoticed! So thank you! 🙏🙏**• • •Ok, So here’s a small bathroom we did a few weeks ago that I forgot to post. Matt sanded this guy down and matched the existing 60+ year old oak that was in the house. It’s great having a guy you can COUNT ON and TRUST that you can send out to another job while you stay put on another job. He got this one sanded down, matched the stain and put a coat of @durasealwoodfinishes sealer down. Here Matt caught me putting down the second coat of Masterline down. I’m using a 6” brush. Took me back to the early days. The guy I learned from would put moisture cure down with a 6” China bristle brush. We’d all get in a line and work our way back. He didn’t like to roll. It was either a 6” China bristle brush or a 12” lambs wool. But, I learned so much from him and his/our floors always looked great. In the second photo you can see the freshly sanded floor that Matt got flat as a pancake 🥞! The third photo shows just the stain down and how well he matched it up. Especially once the poly was laid, it was a near perfect match! He did good! I hope y’all had a good Monday! Let’s show this Tuesday who’s boss! I’ll see y’all in the morning!🌤 Night y’all!• • •#sapwoodworks #kingswoodshop#floors#flooring#customfloors#hardwoodfloors#hardwoodflooring#hardwoods#americanmade#carpenter#carpentry#construction#wood#woodwork#woodworking#tattoo#design#tattoos#bespoke#contractor#interiordesign#columbiasc
