[Eat 3 Bowls] - Intestine Mee Sua ($3.50). The rendition by the 2 young gentlemen reminded me of my Taiwan trip. This is probably the best and closest I have eaten by far. Add some garlic and vinegar to complete the full appreciation of the mee sua.
Surely not a popular opinion, nor one that’ll have others eagerly nodding along in agreement, but I’ve always found this humble little chicken rice store among the best I’ve tried. This nondescript stall’s very adorably called Snack Shop, and has been very reliably feeding the residents of Simei for what may easily be 2 decades. Simply put: it’s been here since before I was born. A hidden secret among the residents (trust me, no one brags about this cause queues among us are long enough), the Snack Shop’s been doing so so well cause they’ve bailed every component of the classic chicken rice. Fragrant rice that’s moist but not clumpy; chickens that are always immensely flavourful, every part of the bird tender and super duper juicy; and most importantly, well-balanced chilli sauce packing quite the bunch. #burpproved
