European Honeymoon: Day 37 of 40 We finally made it to Kobarid, Slovenia today, where we had a reservation to stay the night and eat dinner at the world renowned Hisa Franko House. If you don't know about Hisa Franko, go on Netflix and watch the Chef's Table documentary, season 2/episode 5, and you can learn more about it. We got to Hisa Franko and checked into our room, and then hiked around the area for a couple hours. The Soca River flows through this region and I have to say it was probably the most beautiful river that I've ever seen, with the most incredible emerald green water. We continued hiking around the area and eventually made it to the beautiful Slap Kozjak waterfall. After the hike we drove back into town and stopped at this little bar called Hisa Polonka, and had a few beers and some of their delicious cheeses from the region. Later that night we sat down for an absolutely perfect dining experience at Hisa Franko. Eleven flawless courses that were all made from products sourced locally from the region, and all with the most amazing Slovenian wine pairings. It was truly one of the best dinners and experiences we've ever had, and such a perfect finale to the ending of our trip! #eurotrip#honeymoon#tripofalifetime
“I think human beings need contradictions. We need opposites. We need to sleep in a five-star hotel and we need to sleep under a tree. The distance and the difference between those two extremes are what makes us happy and what makes us think and what makes us grow.” – Francis Mallman ✨this has probably become my all time favorite quote, and it’s come to embody how we travel. the two best dinners of our life @hisafranko wouldn’t have felt nearly as special had we not challenged ourselves in the Slovenian Alps beforehand. travel, and life, is all about contrasts. more on this in today’s blog post to get you through the end of the week (link in bio ☝🏻)
