There's food and then there's food. This is fresh honeycomb, straight from the bee hives at Pennyroyal Raspberry Farm in the Otways region of Victoria. Created, gathered and eaten all on the farm at a long Sunday lunch. And the taste ... sweet and delicate flavours, melt-in-your-mouth incredible. A teaspoon of honey actually has a little more sugar content than a teaspoon of white, refined sugar. Sure, it's probably not ideal to consume too much of either if you're starting a fat loss phase. But the comparison stops there. Macros are not the be all and end all of food. Good food is real, natural, seasonal, local and nutrient-dense. It actually satisfies you. And it tastes better. If your diet treats all foods the same based on their calories and macros, you need to rethink your approach. Yes, it's a good idea to limit sugar. But if you have a chance to eat something incredible like this, don't you dare count the calories. You savour it and enjoy the moment.
