Of all the things that I’m pleased about with my experience with GMB Elements, it’s been my progress with the Bear variations that has been the most satisfying. Sure, I could show the flashier “Spiderman” variation from later in tonight’s sesh, but I chose instead to show the basic Bear. The position in which I’m able to put myself, specifically with respect to my left shoulder ROM and stability, now compared to when I started my first round in July, is light years ahead. Even with considering the progress I’ve made up until now, during tonight’s sesh I could tell that I was pushing that left shoulder into new territory. Although it never felt as though it were in trouble, I didn’t want to risk anything really bad happening, so I chose to dial things back a bit after a couple of steps and really make sure to keep that shoulder stable before proceeding. Body awareness has got to be one of the most useful tools one can develop to remain injury free.
