I was never taught to celebrate my wins resulting into me always beating myself up for not achieving more and hating being competitive. Even as a young athlete anytime I would win a Gold medal or as a singer winning competitions I was never focused on the achievement but more on the approval of my father. Not getting it weighed more than celebrating what I had achieved. I didn't learn to appreciate the small wins let alone the big ones leaving me empty unsatisfied and never feeling good like I was good enough. A few months ago Iwan Yorks pleaded with me to let go of my fear and negative secret beliefs and celebrate my small wins and I thank him for that. I was very reluctant and uncomfortable at first but with the help of my sister Rienaysa Antonia who by the way is a great example of someone who celebrates everything, I am finally getting the hang of it. So here we go. Today I woke up to the beautiful news that we both as business partners hit rank. And for the first time I will have no shame to celebrate our first win. I am happy and grateful to be on this adventure with you sis. You NEED to check out this Tony Robbins podcast about leadership where he interviews General Stanley McChrystal. It's got so much juice in it, including why great leadership is more like being a gardener than a chess master, and also an inspiring section on how, when his career ended suddenly, he CHOSE to respond with positivity and to forge a successful new path instead of letting his energies be eaten up with bitterness. DEFINITELY worth a listen for anyone wanting to boost their leadership skills.
