Regardless of which ankle mobility drill you choose, make sure the heel drops in line with the middle toe and not deviated towards the big toe. . πŸ‘‰ For gait purposes, I prefer to work dorsiflexion with the context of eccentrically loading the calf. These two drills are my go to especially before runs. . πŸ”‘ The marching A-frame is a good drill to notice the tendency for your heels to deviate medially. Really focus on slowly allowing the heels to drop as far as possible while maintaining good alignment. Try to keep the pelvis anteriorly tilted as much as possible to increase the stretch on the posterior leg. . πŸ”‘ The wall march is another great drill that can be done slowly to challenge proper alignment as well as foot/ankle stability. The additional load of being upright and pushing into the wall should be controlled without sacrificing proper ankle alignment and coming up onto the those maintaining equal pressure on the big toe knuckles and little toe knuckles. . So the 2nd July will see me tick off a life goal and complete my first marathon at the Gold Coast Airport Marathon before I turn 40. Up until Nov 2016, my longest ever run was 8km, Mar 2017 I ran 15km, and only last week I ran 21.1km giving my first half marathon run length. I've set my goal as 3h45m for the marathon and today was a great training run for making it happen. With just over 9 weeks to go, it's time to remain focused and get those k's in the legs on some solo runs and with my awesome training partners @m.britton.ttt & @jen_lewis_11 and the crew at Springfield Runners Group

#tbt to my first(and only so far) 26.2 October 2016. Official time 3:32:58.(needed a 3:40 to BQ) I had no idea how to train. I used a Hal Higdon training plan with no speed or tempo work. Just run xx amount of miles. I modified it and only ran four days a week for the first 8 weeks then picked it up to 5-6 runs a week. I pushed the double stroller on most of my runs which sure did help a lot! I felt great on race day. Weather was perfect! And @axelrod44 was such an awesome pacer!  Well this Sunday I will be running my second marathon. This training cycle I got an awesome coach @run4prs and PR'd in the 5k, 10k, and 13.1! I feel faster than I ever have! I've only ran 15 miles the last 3 weeks nursing a hip injury and resting this week leading up to the marathon. My goal was a 3:20. I felt trained to run that time. I know on Sunday I won't be close to that goal with having to rest so much and this injury. If im feeling better I will run....I plan on running. I've put in the work!! I'm going to have fun......if there's no painπŸ™„I'm getting better day by day and it's going to be fun running in weather that's 45 degrees and raining with 20-30mph winds😫 Not reallyπŸ™„ I'm staying positive! 3 more days till the Oshkosh Marathon!
