Humans are creative by nature. When we neglect creativity, in comes flatness, lack of motivation, emptiness... Creativity can be ANYTHING you're creating (even an idea), not just art. But art can be fun. No special skills or training needed, as seen here. Mindful immersion and colourful fun at the end of the day with some cheap art supplies (about the same cost as a bottle of wine). Has your creativity been neglected? How do you stoke it?
Made my favorite #fruitfree smoothie this morning inspired by @bewellbykelly 🙏🏼 this one looks so green but literally tastes like a snickerdoodle cookie and is filled with so much good stuff. Always build your smoothie with these 4 things in mind: protein, fiber, fat, + greens. This combo will keep you full for SO long, it really changed my hunger levels going into lunch. 1 scoop @alohamoment greens + 1 scoop @paleoproproducts vanilla protein + 1 tbsp @artisanaorganics almond butter + ground flaxseeds + frozen cauliflower + 1/2 a zucchini + @califiafarms almond milk 👌🏻 #smoothie#dairyfree#glutenfree#eatclean#abalancedbite
The bells of mindfulness are sounding. All over the earth we are experiencing floods, droughts and massive wildfires. Sea ice is melting in the Arctic and hurricanes and heat waves are killing thousands. Before us are forests are disappearing and the deserts are growing. We are becoming extinct every day while ignoring the ringing bells. All of us know that our beautiful green planet is in danger. Our way of walking on the earth has a great influence on animals and plants. Yet we act as if our daily lives have nothing to do with the condition of the world. We are like sleepwalkers, not knowing what we are doing or where we are heading. Whether we can wake up or not depends on whether we can walk mindfully on our Mother Earth. The future of all life, including our own, depends on our mindful steps. We have to hear the bells of mindfulness that are sounding all across our planet. We have to start learning how to live in a way that a future will be possible for our children and grandchildren. If we continue to live as we have been living, consuming without a thought of the future, emitting dangerous amounts of carbon dioxide, then devastating climate change is inevitable. Much of our ecosystem will be destroyed. See levels will rise in coastal cities will be uninvited, forcing hundreds of millions of refugees from their homes, creating wars and outbreaks of infectious disease. We need a kind of collective awakening. There are among us men and women who are awakened but it is not enough. Most people are still sleeping. We don't have to sink into despair about global warming and: we can act. Urgent action must be taken at the individual and the collective levels. We have the power to decide the destiny of our planet if we awaken to our true situation, there will be a change in our collective consciousness. - Thich Nhat Hanh

Humanity is now faced with a stark choice: Evolve or die. … If the structures of the human mind remain unchanged, we will always end up re-creating the same world, the same evils, the same dysfunction. ― Eckhart Tolle
ask me how many times i've moved successfully into Crow (bakasana).... doesn't matter. today was a face-plant day, where i jumped presumptuously into this arm balance. when we tangle our minds in expectations for our bodies, it often leads to failure (and/or injury). it is more fruitful to be aware of this mental fluctuation, and tend to it as needed. 🌱 how do we apply this to a physical posture (asana)? by exploring, deeply, in the present moment. this offers a beginners mindset to every posture, free of expectations. like you're shifting into everything for the very first time. because in a way, you are. it's the first time doing it in this body, wherever you're at, at this very moment. 🌷when we move slowly... melting into the moment... our chance of getting hurt diminishes, as we relish in bright opportunities for higher awareness of mind and body 🌹
