A good bowl of pho is surprisingly difficult to find and my surest gauge is whether or not I remember it a week after eating. Pho 99 on Amoy Street is easily the best I’ve had in a while. The broth is honest and served at just the right temperature so the beef slices don’t overcook unlike at many other places. A major plus point for me: the beansprouts are cooked through. I know many people who enjoy the crunchy texture of raw beansprouts, but I’m not one of them, which pretty much makes this the perfect comfort food for a grey day like this one.
