Thank you to some supporters for sending me a heads up about this. For those of you in the New Jersey area, the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) spokeswoman @drheatherloenser will be at his event. This is a great opportunity for respectful civil discourse on the topic of declawing. Would love to know why AAHA strongly opposes declawing but won't ban it at their AAHA hospitals like they do with non-anesthesia dentals. Also bring a pet food donation for NJ AniMeals for support and thank them for their awesome work! Please ask Donna (running for Assembly in NJ this election) if she is supporting our anti declawing bill in NJ. You will be my hero if you can speak to them. Remember a few weeks ago people went to Catcon and respectfully asked the Cornell people to stop declawing and what did they do with Rhoda Hogan's bequest and shortly thereafter they stopped declawing at their small animal hospital! Let's get the important and respectful conversation started! Long story: As you know from my previous reporting, the AAHA refuses to ban cat declawing at their Standard of Excellence hospitals... They don't even have any protocols for cat declawing even though they have protocols for 900 other things. I've reached out to Dr Heather Loenser many times in emails but she never replied to me. Maybe she will reply to you in person!🙏🏻 Don't forget ... Be polite and respectful :-) #nj#njcats#newjersey#pawsneedclaws
‼️URGENT FOSTER NEEDED‼️ These three did not have the easiest start to life. Part of a cycle on the streets we've seen so many times. Their mom gave birth to multiple litters of kittens before anybody was contacted for help. And when help came, poor Dixie, the girl in the middle, had already been clipped by a car and lost part of her tail. Her mom and siblings, aside from these 3, missing from that point on 💔 ➡️➡️ Please, help by fostering. Open your home and heart. COMMENT below if you can help, fill out an all at http://bit.ly/fostertosave [They are also available for adoption!] They're about a year and a half old now, and they urgently need to find a new foster, THIS WEEK. Their current foster took them due to the emergency nature of the situation at the time, but really didn't have any time or space to give to these scared young kitties who really just need a hand learning to trust. AS OF THIS WEEK, their current foster is no longer able to keep them, and they need another place to call their temporary home IMMEDIATELY. 💛 Karmelcorn on the left, is a sweet, friendly girl with a lot of love to give. She has come around the most on her own, and is very independent. You can most definitely hold her in your lap, and listen to her purr! 💛 Dixie (in the middle) and her brother 💛 Wesley (on the right) tend to hang together a bit more, and are still a bit untrusting. BUT THEY ARE ALL GOOD WITH KIDS! We're confident that a foster who is willing to get to know them, can easily break them out of their shell! They are sweet, and we know they want to be loved, they just need a chance! 😭😭😭 ➡️➡️ Please, if there is any way you can help, fill out an app to be a foster here. http://bit.ly/fostertosave All three are spayed/neutered and up to date on shots. Please help us continue to help them. We are 100% full right now. As a rescue, not a shelter...we have no facility and rely completely on fosters. It's not a hard job, we promise.
I'm reaching out to any cat owner who had their cat declawed at @saintfrancisvet (Swedesboro Animal Hospital) in the last couple of years so that I can understand the very difficult situation that you faced and weren't able to keep your cat unless you had it declawed. I want to put together educational info on how cat owners can address those difficult and rare cat scratching situations by using the humane alternatives instead of declawing a cat, so your information will be a huge help for the future welfare of cats. 👍🏻 Your name will be protected and anonymous and your cats will be proud of you for helping this important cat cause. #hero I've asked Mark, the go to spokesman with all the answers, social media guru, and President of Saint Francis Veterinary Center, what were the few examples of those "rare and difficult" situations when they feel they had to declaw a cat but he never answered me and asked me last night to refrain from posting on his vet practice's facebook page. #swedesboroanimalhospital#saintfrancisveterinarycenter#swedesboro#paulsboro#woodstown#pennsgrove#westdeptford#mullicahill#nj#newjersey Please email me email@example.com Citythekitty.com
