Chopping up and washing veg ahead and having carbohydrates such as rice ready on hand means you just need to add a source of lean protein in such as chicken or fish along with a healthy fat such as some avocado πŸ₯‘ or coconut oil for a balanced meal.

In Ayurveda and the plant world, we acknowledge the impact and relevance of all energy in the Universe, including the heavenly bodies. The primary seasonal guidelines emerge as a result of shifts in the sun's proximity to Earth throughout the year. During a unique event such as a solar eclipse, there are additional guidelines for staying balanced and maximizing the energy offered by the cosmos.  You can perform the following guidelines prior to and during the solar eclipse this Monday, August 21st: Your eclipse guidelines Clean house: a solar eclipse ushers in a new wave of energy, and removes old energy. Perform a general sweep of your home one day prior to remove built up dust, debris and stagnant energy to support the process. Fast: to keep the mind-body system clear, no food is taken after 6 hours prior to the eclipse. Remove old food: traditionally, all prepared foods (i.e. foods you have prepared - not packaged or stored goods) are removed from the home - once eating has ceased, of course. Remove old beverages: water or other beverages kept in cups or open containers need to be discarded after the solar eclipse.  Wash and clean dishes: utensils kept outside where they are exposed to sunlight before using them again. Steer clear of the rays: it is recommended you stay indoors and avoid being outside in the path of the eclipse rays.  Take a shower: once the eclipse is over, purify the body. Prayer and introspection: honor the transition by acknowledging the progress you have made, what you are continuing to work on in your life and would like to shift. A special prayer or mantra is the perfect accompaniment, such as the Surya Gayatri Mantra (below). Guys...when your sweet tooth is calling your name and all you want is a ball of delicious chocolate, peanut bliss. Here it is. These balls are 100% 30 Days approved:  In a bowl mix:  1/2 oat flour (I grind 1/2 cup large flake oats for 3 seconds in a coffee grinder) 1/3 cup your favourite nut butter (there's nothing quite like peanut for me but there are better options out there) 1/4 cup cocoa powder 2 tbs pure maple syrup Pinch of salt 2-4 tbs almond milk (you might have to adjust to get the perfect consistency) 1 scoop EACH chocolate and vanilla protein shake or meal replacement * my 3 year old added a few chocolate chips but you don't have to add them.  Stir everything up. Mine came out quite sticky so I put the bowl in the fridge for 10 minutes.  Roll into small balls of pure deliciousness.
