Oh hayyy old friend. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on my mat - or doing any sort of exercise at all. I’ve had a hard time getting back into our routine after the craziness of the past few weeks. Talking about a healthy relationship to food and the gift of our children. What we say and do about food matters! I would say that it's directly effecting our children. A reminder to myself first and foremost is to do my best to give my baby a healthy relationship to food and love for eating real and pure food. A baby or young child doesn't want sugar, because the baby hasn't developed the "sweet tooth". But as it grows up and is being fed with sugar it'll develop. Industrial sugar isn't healthy for anyone, neither is junk food which contains bad type of fats and so on. . Our children are given to us as a trust from Allah SWT, the One who created you and me and all that exists. It's our responsibility to give the children the best we can. It's our responsibility to give them a healthy relationship to food and give them the best and healthy start of life as we can, with what we have. They really deserve that. How innocent is a little child. May Allah protect all children, Ameen ya Rab! . If we would be off balance, skip meals, drink sugar with tea, eat too much and be up and down on the scale; what message are we telling our children? And how do we feel with ourselves? It's not always super easy to change bad habits, but remember, everything is possible! In Shaa Allah. .  Too many teenagers and adults nowadays are having different types of eating disorders. We need to be strong together and do what we can to prevent this. In Shaa Allah. .  Everything is best in balance. In moderation. it’s supposed to be 70 degrees and sunny today (🙌🏻) which definitely calls for a celebratory smoothie. This is my very favorite recipe :: 2 large handfuls leafy greens (usually spinach and kale), ½ frozen banana, 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 tsp. cacao, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tbsp. almond butter, a scoop of protein powder (I love @ora.organic chocolate protein), and a little bit of water to blend! tastes like a million bucks and keeps me full for hours👌🏻
