We had so much fun visiting the ducks at the lake by Daddy’s work today! We enjoyed the sunshine ☀️ and warm breeze! . . One of the biggest reasons that I put fitness and health first in my life is so that I can be an active and involved mom... so that I don’t have to watch from the sidelines as she lives her life... so that I can be running right beside her 💕

The sound of ice cracking was so scary and a few steps ahead , while we were walking as we had been doing so far, (casually) , we encountered melted ice, it was WATER ! We freaked out! Haha! Since being home from my big Thailand adventure, a lot of people have asked me what my favorite part of the trip was. It's a rude awakening out there for a lot of people. Statistics show anxiety and depression are higher than ever & continuing to increase. What is going on? I've talked about several reasons why before but one for sure---our cultural belief that things should be easy, simple, and accessible now! The actions and virtues of hard work, discipline, structure, and learning outside of strengths seems foreign. Facing adversity and challenge are the best things but now often frowned upon. Avoiding and protecting seems more the norm. Guess what avoiding does? Yep, increases fear and an inability to cope. Parents, coaches, teachers, we must change this. We must shift to a culture that acts courageous and #honorthestruggle !! We must not protect our kids from pain, hardship, and difficulties but allows them to develop the skill of overcoming! (I'm not talking about abusive stuff here). Sports, I think, is an incredible way to learn these character qualities-- resilience, team work, sacrifice, hard work, experiencing pain and learning you can handle it, experiencing doubt and fear and overcoming it with skill progression and listening to and applying knowledge... and so much more!! Strength indeed comes from accomplishing something you once thought you couldn't do-- however messy or imperfect!
How you talk to yourself represents the attitudes and beliefs that determine how you feel and act.  How you speak to yourself dictates your bodies response to work, tasks and interactions with others.  If you use language of blame, coercion and threats, then your body will be caught between fight and flight (stress state) or conserving energy for survival (depressive state). This manifests as procratination, and narrative of powerlessness to effect change. To change from procrastinator to producer, you need notice and then shift your inner dialogue to one that focuses on results, on choice and ideas of what you think should be. Your body and mind will respond with a level of positive energy not bound by negativity from past experience or future speculation. You need to learn a language that removes the need for conflict within yourself and with those who you feel have power over you.
