oxalic acid sublimation to save the bees from varroa mite and start this year with healthy ladies!
#restauri #adrianhelmet #grigioverde #elmettoadrian #ossalico #oxalicacid #ww1rememberance
Big thanks to Toni and Jan for their tireless work on community oxalic vaporization! @burnhamtoni @jpostonday #urbanbeekeeping #dcbees #dcbeekeepers #brooklanddc #oxalicacid #varroa #abejas #abeilles
The yellow wood sorrel, also called sour grass, is common wild flower here in central California is known for its lemon taste due to oxalic acid. Oxalic acid taste good in small quantities but in large doses it can inhibit the absorption of calcium in the body. It's a good snack for people but can be harmful to pets if they eat too much. Lemons have a sour taste that comes from citric acid which is safer for the body in larger doses. There are a variety of different wood sorrel out there that can be identified by their clover-like leaves. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• #woodsorrel #wildflowers #sourgrass #weeds #flowers #gardening #botony #oxalicacid #lemon #centalcoast #california #nature #education #facts #photography #science #biology #outdoors #sour #lompoc
Lots of curly dock leaves popping up early, so I snagged some and made some chips out of the young leaves. They have an awesome lemon tang from the oxalic acid. Otherwise - salt, pepper, oil, oven. Will use a lot less oil next time around... - #oxalicacid #curlydock #chips #rain #spring #growth #oceanbeach #forage #foraging #urbanforaging #sandiego #wildfood #wildfoodlove #pesto #localflavor #eatwild #plantbased #plantlove #nature #foodporn #eatlocal #cleaneats #eatseasonally #cleaneating #nativeplants #edibleplants #ediblewildplants #plantmedicine #california #sustainable
[Summer 17-18] Summer greens 🌿 It’s too hot for me to grow lettuce and baby spinach here during summer, they bolt and go bitter! However there are plenty of leaves to make up our salads that survive the heat including kales, silverbeet, nasturtium leaves, young sweet potato leaves, dandelion, rocket, red-veined sorrel, parsley, purslane, amaranth leaves (Chinese spinach), brazilian spinach, and malabar spinach. . . . 🌿🌿Many leafy greens contain oxalate (oxalic acid), naturally occurring but too much can overload your system. Some have quite high levels of oxalic acid, particularly spinach, silverbeet (swiss chard), beet leaves, purslane, amaranth and sorrel. Oxalate is often termed an “anti-nutrient” as it can bind with minerals in your gut and stop their absorption. Oxalate can also impact your kidney and urinary tract systems, creating kidney stones (calcium oxalate) and contributing the urinary tract infections in sensitive people. Thus eating from a wide diversity of plants is important ... don’t eat the same thing all the time to vary your intake of natural plant chemicals, both good and bad! . . #leafygreens #growyourownfood #growsomethinggreen #eatwhatyougrow #eatyourgreens #organicgardening #plantbased #nutritionalmedicine #growyourown #oxalicacid
Overgrown backyard sorrel stems: the Gentleman's Rhubarb. Same tangy oxalic acid, pickles nice, less fibrous. #xrayvision4cooks
Giving them a rip of #oxalicacid this morning. More stuff to learn on timing and my handling of this tool. Thank you Noah Clipp for the loan and coaching.@noahsbees
Spinach is one the healthiest leaves we can consume as it is rich in anti-oxidants, minerals and flavonoids. DCN recommends that you grow your own spinach in your kitchen garden for a regular, organic supply. The spinach available in the market is usually not grown in good quality soil and has residues of pesticides. Spinach is a wonderful bioaccumulate of minerals from the earth but along with good ones like iron, manganese etc it also absorbs the toxic heavy metals like lead and cadmium. Growing spinach at home, helps avoid such a situation. It is thought by many that consuming raw spinach only is good for health. We must understand that both cooked and raw spinach have very different nutritional values. Raw spinach is rich in oxalis acid and limits the absorption of calcium and iron but provides nutrients like vitamin C,K and folate. On the other hand, the oxalic acid content is destroyed on cooking and it is easier to absorb higher levels of calcium, iron, vitamin A, E, protein fibre, zinc, thiamin and carotenoids.so, decide on the form of intake, depending on your intake. DCN dosage - 1 cup of raw spinach, approx thrice a week for a month works to improve the immune system along with giving a boost to the bone health. DCN tip- Manage the spinach intake in case you suffer from kidney disorder. #dcn #dietcarenutrition #eatwellbefit #ruchigoyal #spinach #oxalicacid #kitchengarden #rawspinach #cookedspinach #kidneydisorder #spinachleaves #spinachmyth
If You are typical 1++++%population mainstream vegan, You find Yourself, after some unlucky time of fitness trap restriction, enjoying increasing bowl of heavycarby oatmelstuffs(yeah, some biopesticided berries on top with some lignans, best flax f'course) in case You do not opt for oxalic acid-loafed green smoothies with nonlocal banana or orange, having phytoestrogeal&lectin filled beans sprinkled by weird crack nootch in Your instagtam-friendly buddha bowl, and some nice plates if rancid millet or arsenic rice hidden by chewy greens with fatty avo or hempseeds, in necessary company of controversial soy pleasures like tofus, tempeh or youghs. Or that pure gluten tempeh. So, sure, walking poison, lacking Fe, Ca, Omegas or D for sure. Or not? However, despite all these 'truths', still well settled in many institution like hospitals, heads of mainstream dietetician and heads of (oldy) pupulation, it s more&more vegans who prosper the most, even after some beggining times of searching by exlensive trial and cruel fail what works best for their own individual body. I was that case. On the other hand my wish to be vegan for all these ethical, environmental, compassion and - especially health values, but still switching some time to animal protein or dairy bcs...animal protein&dairy, #weknow! It was hours of studying, watching Youtubes, other Instagrammers, reading tons of books and lots of eating efforts & fails, comments from doctors and family before one realises, that nutrition-commercial biases are still alive. Interesting that these who avoid greens&lectins&phytoeytrogens ends up with kidney stones, diabethes, obesity, defficiencies and pains, whereas these increasing sect of vegans prosper and shine, running miles and winning world sportive events. My question is then:who really makes these studies nowadays? These biases? These fairs? Evidently not these who lives as a nations or pupulatin longer or healtier. If me, in my case of former absolutly defficient

IPM (Integrated Pest Management) for 2018 begins. Treating for varroa mites while the hives are essentially broodless. Mites present in midwinter can be effectively controlled with vaporized oxalic acid. This is especially important if you suspect (like I do) that your fall treatment was not particularly effective. #beekeeperslife #beekeeping #varroadestructor #oxalicacid #beehealth #apiary #honeybees
Mites can be a huge problem in a honey bee hive. Dad explains how oxalic acid can kill the mites without the use of any pesticides! 🐝 ❤️ #bigbellybee #localhoney #arkansashoney #localarkansashoney #honey #honeybees #mites #oxalicacid #nopesticides #buylocalhoney #savethebees🐝
Lithium Chloride to kill Varroa Mites I was reading an article about German Scientists. They discovered that Lithium Chloride in a sugar solution is lethal to mites, but harmless to bees. Of course as a person who is cautious of ANY foreign chemicals in my environment, I wanted to see if anyone else had any information on this as a mite treatment. I personally have had success with the Oxalic Acid vaporizer method. #beekeeper #honey #beeswax #bee #bees #savethebees #beekeeping #beekeeper #pollinators #honeybee #honeybees #beehive #bee#honey #insects #insect #beekeepers #beeofinstagram #beeswax #beekeeperlife #urbanbeekeeping #beeks #beekeepersofinstagram #beek #backyardbeekeeping #apiary #beekeeperslife #lithiumchloride #varroa #varroadestructor #oxalicacid #mitetreatment
