fashion revolution week. this last week was an entire 7 days to bring awareness to answer this one question. who made your clothes? . have you ever thought of the person that stitched together your jeans or all those shirts in your closet? more than likely most of us don't think like that. it's not very common, but I hope this changes. these thoughts are fairly new to me, and I'm continually learning in new ways how fashion is actually the second leading most harmful industry in the world. most importantly to me are the people involved in this process, the absolutely unjust treatment that most of the factory workers [many living in Bangladesh and India] receive. these workers aren't even seen as people, but only objects like machines that produce our clothes. and all the dramatic negative ways these jobs influence these people only go on and on. but there is hope, and there is change going on. check out companies that sell ethically made clothes, some are even hand signed by the individual that made it. look into @kokuafairtrade for a complied list of many many fair trade companies. shop at second hand stores to repurpose items. think quality over quantity. simply to start thinking about #whomademyclothes will begin to change the world. . photo creds to @kokuafairtrade
