#repost from @sues_warriors ... Since I’m still up, I thought I should use my time wisely... In 2015 I met the man who I can only describe as my guardian angel. I knew as soon as I met him that we had a connection I’d never felt with anyone. He immediately made me feel safe. Like nothing bad was ever going to happen to me while he was around.... but this is not why I love him. I love him for the way he stood by my side when we didn’t know what was wrong with my health, and the way he continued to do so even after he has seen how bad it can get. I love the way he takes care of me, making sure I have everything I need to be as comfortable as possible, without ever actually making me feel like a “sick person.” Even though bad things have happened to my body and my health, I still feel like one of the luckiest because I have you. If I never get better, if I need to live every day in pain for the rest of my life, I don’t care because I will have you beside me. Thank you for taking care of me no matter the time of day or night @michael.philippot
New Blog Post! I also realized a couple hours after i uploaded my first blog a couple days ago that i accidentally uploaded my first draft which had lots of errors in it...oops. 😂 So i fixed that! The link is in my bio!
Be grateful today for what works as opposed to what does not. Today the @calm meditation talked of showing gratitude to our bodies. For those of us who suffer a chronic illness, this is sometimes easier said than done when our bodies are often consumed with pain and fatigue. But, try to take a moment today and focus on what serves you well, be it your ears, your eyes, your alert mind, your internal organs that keep you alive, your hands that can hold, your skin that feels, your feet that hold you and take you places....even if it slowly. As I sat in meditation today and did the body scan and focused on what in my body was working well, I can honestly say that at that time, I felt no pain, even if it was just for a few minutes but nevertheless it was a welcome relief. So, could a grateful mind and a practice of gratitude offer some pain relief albeit for short periods....only one way to find out - give it a go!!
Let’s talk diets, specifically IBD Diets 🙌🏽 I’ve been coming across a lot of posts on cutting down sugar, why milk is good for you, how to eat more salads and all the other advice that’s great if you’re a normie but will most definitely kill me (this is not even a joke)! After hitting delete on a less-than-angry post, I’d rather hear from Crohn’s, Colitis & others about your unique diet necessitated by a medical need than shout into the dark hole that is the Internet. My diet in a nutshell? Pure protein, simple carbs, low-fibre diet which means meat meat meat, white grains and mushy stuff (who doesn’t love mushy stuff?) and I want to know YOUR equally unconventional diet if you have one OR if you’ve heard anything about IBD Diets and wondered if it’s true, I want to know as well 👩🏽💻 If you don’t want to hear me talk about poo then let’s talk about food otherwise there will be poo posts coming up shortly 💩 Also, mmmmmm steak 🥩 😋
