Basic Barbell complex. Here is a complex that formed the Strength & Technique section of my @maximuscle Maxi on Tour class from Saturday at @oneldnclub . I taught three movements: 1. Deadlift 2. Hang power clean 3. Push press We then linked the three together and cycled through the movements taking time to execute each movement as cleanly as possible. . Feedback from the beginners of the class, especially female, was that they enjoyed learning something that they normally would have been totally intimidated by and probably put off by if they heard words like ‘complex’ & ‘hang power clean’. . If you want to learn something or experience something new, try and be brave. Personally, I love feeling like a total beginner at something. I see it as the best challenge - knowing nothing then knowing something. I just love learning! But I know it can also feel intimidating or overwhelming. But remember, there is always someone that knows how. So ask questions, do your research, watch videos and then experiment and give it a go! If you don’t feel comfortable doing it on your own, go to a class environment. . Most importantly, once you’ve learnt something, don’t think you know everything, keep practicing your practice! You can always be better! . One of my goals is to learn more OLY lifts and master the techniques. What skills do you want to learn? Let me know below.
TRAINING TIP TUESDAY 🏋️💪🏻🏆!!! DON’T RUN BEFORE YOU CAN WALK!! Like anything you try out for the first time, you have to start somewhere - the beginning!! When it comes to training, it’s so important to get the foundations of everything you’re working towards in check. My client, Matt, loves boxing, and spends a large part of his one:one sessions with me working on the basics. This is so that eventually we can move onto the more technical side of boxing; but not before he’s mastered the art of even the most simple of steps. Check out this video of Matt working so intensely at BRF last night. Whatever it is that you’re working on, keep going, keep focused and roll with the punches 🥊😉 no matter how long it takes - you cannot rush perfection! #trainingtiptuesday#startwiththebasics#boxing#foundations#footwork#earntherighttoprogress#startyourjourney
