Had a planning meeting last night to plan out how to get myself in shape, to get organised. . It was at the usual planning meeting location, but on my own. Felt a bit strange without the rest if the "team", but the feeling of being lonely this week is what's triggered this action, this "come Jeff, pull your finger out" kick up the backside, so perhaps sat on my own was the correct way to do it. . The Book of Excuses is being put away, after it sneaked out without me realising it. No more reasons to not do stuff. Ripped trainers, too tired, it's cold, my leg hurts...no more. Need to make sure I catch myself if I pull some reason out from page 113, or something though! . Anyway, I'm going to pull my finger out, cheer the f**k up, appreciate how lucky I am to be able to do these things, and drag myself out of this "funk" that I've been pretending that I'm not in. . Who's coming? ☺️ #chasingextraordinary#betterjeff#getinshape#letsgetstarted#castlerockbrewery . . . . . #runner#instarun#runninglife#run#ukrunchat#ultrarunner#intraining#workinprogress#running
Planning out the rest of my week’s fitness routine, and because I’m working from home tomorrow I’ll be able to make the evening HIIT session! 🎉 Running is my first love but variety is the spice of life and I’ve fallen back in love with being on this field. #metabolicconditioning
Today was an interesting run along the @southdownsnp , after testing my foot yesterday I decided to head back to the trails however despite having far too many trainers I didn't have a pair of cushioned trail runners so I went with my @salomonrunning s lab hard ground. What a mistake, far too muddy, slipping dangerously down Beacon hill, less cushioning than I remembered. Saw a ton of deer which was amazing, I had to wait while they ran across my path Managed to get my 2 hr run target, just over 13 miles for second day running, 2000 ft climbing Home now for a cold water bath before work tonight, hope it revives my foot
Day 24. Slow 9 miles. Different kind of picture today! * Day off work so could go earlier than usual for my run, it tends to be done as soon as I get home from work. Remarkably I managed to actually do the distance I needed to do! * Very windy out on the sea front with the tide on its way in, sadly I was too early to get some cool wave pictures. * Foam roller to be used in my calves. Left one is feeling a bit sore; hurt it in a spin class last night after I broke a pedal on the bike. Oops! @subway salad with sweet onion sauce for my lunch to be washed down with some Pepsi Max.
After three days of running this week and we're over 50 miles deep- on target for the 110. I think I've run all but about 10 miles in the last 9 days on the track. Something close to 150 miles this year- I get asked if it's boring and why I do it, how I do it even?!? It's simple- I love running, the motion of running and the places it takes me. If I have to run in circles, without distractions or pause then I'll happily do it. I love that I can play around with speed and adjust it to near enough the second per mile. Running is simple, it's beautiful in its simplicity- the track optimises that for me. I don't get bored because I'm not a boring person... if you could take a look inside my mind you might have to run for hours in circles too! One of my secrets: sometimes I close my eyes running the straights to see how far I can go with them closed! Track chicken. Day 17 - considering I was procrastinating with the best of them pre 8am, I am knackered now!! 1.5 mile round trip school run/dog walk 2.1 mile walk to gym 5km - mix of speeds, did a km at max incline 5 minutes HIIT sprints at 17km/h (sweaty!) Then 2.1 mile walk back home *and collapse* Until the next school run/dog walk and however many mile walk to college later. I deserve these Quality Streets! Another daft selfie as there is nowhere near enough smiles in the world!
You want conventional, you want sensible you ain't going to get it here. You need a smile, you want a chat and a fair few #runningselfies then BOOM you've reached the right place. I'm a gobbin who runs because it makes me happy, it helps me smile, I enjoy it and I bore people on Instagram about it. I spend 7.5 hours a day being professional so that's a hell of a long time to store up my gobbin behaviour...I won't apologise, I'll just smile cause it confuses people 😂🤣 This runner who's been told today he should take running more seriously has just hit 3 miles around 7.05 per mile...My gobbinish behaviour seems to work for me ha ha If you get results do it, never change for anyone. Keep inspiring you lovely lovely virtual friends and make someone smile. No regrets
