Trekking in the very deep and unspoiled #jungle . It's the region of the cocaine farmers and we're not into going very further from the trails. Anyway it's almost impossible to cross walk due to the density of the vegetation. Here's a bamboo bridge going over a torrent.
@roundtheworldgirl - Whenever I'm in the mountains with friends, I'm always the person nerding out about flowers and plant life. I'm constantly telling people what the names of the flowers are, which ones you can eat, what the presence of certain ones indicate, etc. I know a lot of people don't care about any of it, but I can't help but think that the more you know about something, the more you can hopefully start to care about it. It's easy to look at a beautiful landscape and have a surface level appreciation of the place simply because it's pretty, but once you understand how the landscape ticks, everything becomes so much more real. Turns out there's more to these places than just roadside pullouts and trendy Instagram pictures. ;) #scienceiscool#neature#youcantellitsalupinebecauseofthewayitis @jacksonhole
After a few days freezing cold in the mountains, we decided to take a warmer rest on the lake Guatapé which has the peculiarity of being overlooked by a steep & rocky promontory. Offering a beautiful panoramic view over the lake! fresh air and colourful lakeside villages will make it for the weekend!!
El Lechero in action. Feeling lucky to witness such a moment. The atmosphere is drizzling, humid and awakening. We drink a kind of hot chocolaté coffee to keep the body warm. The fog is fading away as the morning goes by.
We got pretty late at the hostel in Manizales. Our goal was to go up to the volcanoes Los Nevados. 🗻🗻 But upon our arrival, we've been informed that the park was closed because of an eruption going on!! 🌋🌋😀 I'm going very excited! But the hostel keeper insists that the access is closed to any tourist because of the danger.⛔🚫 After making friends a bit, he tells us that there is indeed ONE way to get to the summits. The Milk Guy, El Lechero 🐮🐮. He leaves at 4AM 😴😴 to collect the milk of the farmers on the volcano slopes. We just have to wait on the road at due time, wave at him, and he'll give us a ride...What a reliable plan!! Well, that's the only lead we have let's give it a chance! And we just got it right !! 😀😀
We saw that buddie #parrot wandering in the streets from one tree to another swinging by the electric cables. He had a lot to say and we almost had an entire conversation together. #incredible to see one of a kind in its #natural environment!
