Good morning fam! Wether your bulking or cutting the 3 most important exercises are the bench press, squat, and deadlift‼️ Wether your trying to bulk or cut your gym sesssions should mainly revolve around “compound exercises.” Compound lifts produce a greater metabolic and hormonal stimulus along with burning the most calories per unit time (Ballor et al 1987, Kraemer & Ratamess, 2003). Therefore, by performing compounds you can burn more calories per session which is highly beneficial for creating a calorie deficit (Hill et al 2011). Along with this you can stimulate a more anabolic response from training which can aid muscle preservation when in a negative energy balance (Donelly et al 1993). So you can still do isolation exercises, but your workout program should consist of 80% compound 20% isolation exercises. However, one thing you may want to consider is how MANY you perform. As compound lifts have shown to increase recovery demands over isolations (Korak et al 2015), you need to be slightly more careful with how many adjunct exercises to chose to perform thereafter as, when in a deficit, (cutting), overall recovery has shown to be reduced (Nattiv et al 2007, Kouttedakis et al 1994). LITTLE ALICE IS SO HAPPY BECAUSE SHE FINALLY GREW SOME BALLS AND WENT TO MASS. 😊😊😊 MASS is this society at my uni where you can go and weight lift and I was so scared to go because everyone there is so much stronger than me but I finally went and met this lovely girl called liv who showed me how to do everything and let me follow her around like a lost puppy. She said that all progress is good and that made me realise that I shouldn’t compare myself to everyone else there. I got PBs on everything she showed me basically because I’d never done it before!! The main one I am happy about is the fact that I FINALLY USED THE SQUAT RACK!!! Take a look at all you’ve been through, you deserve to be happy and you do not need any external validation in order to feel that happiness. You can start right now.  You have the ability to let go of old patterns that no longer serve you and the first step to letting them go is sitting in your own silence and facing those demons.  Perhaps there is part of you that feels wronged, resentful, ashamed, or fearful? Although it may be difficult to look at those parts of ourselves, that’s where we can start the process of letting it go so that we can fully enjoy the life we are experiencing.  We carry so much baggage around and we often have so many layers of it that we don’t see our own beauty.  I’m going through the process with you, so know that together we can be strong.
