J O Y... Noticing what's around us. Noticing what little moments come our way. We have a choice each moment to notice the bird song, the breeze against our skin, the smiles between meeting friends in the park, the kindness a stranger offers another... and so on. There is only here and now... what do you notice? THIS is where we can find joy 😊☀ Tuesday Takeaway video is going live soon! 'Compassionate Inner Light' facebook group for more 💖

Jumping into Tuesday with both feet, so much to get done and where to start and typically we spent yesterday indoors while the sun shone outside (see previous post) and today it's raining again. What is going on with this weather?! One day it's glorious sunshine, the next it's pouring with rain so this pic comes from our recent holiday in Cyprus where the weather was just wonderful and brings some sunshine and fond memories to my feed 💖 #momentsinthesun#happytuesday
Often times we put off changes we KNOW deep down we should make because the task “seems” insurmountable (aka Paralysis by Analysis). We THINK we know what the road ahead consists of when in reality we have no idea what the future holds. ▪️ Think about any time you ever accomplished anything you set out to. Did it go exactly as you foresaw it at the start of the journey?... NO! So if you’ve been holding back on making positive seemingly scary changes in your life, stop thinking, think of one step you can take in the right direction, and TAKE IT! You got this 🙌🏻
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” - Saint Teresa . . The ripples. They are one of the things I love most about kantha and boro stitching. The natural ruffles and waves of fabric between lines of simple, uneven stitches. As I stitch tonight, I keep thinking of Puerto Rico, Florida, Houston, Mexico City…all who have experienced such trauma and loss these past several weeks. My heart breaks, not only for the acute and desperate need, but for my lack and my powerlessness to directly help. Maybe you feel a little like me? Overwhelmed. Sad. Uncertain of how to help. The needs are so great. But even as that helplessness wells up inside, I hear Saint Teresa’s sweet words. I cannot change the world alone. I cannot save everybody by myself. But I can cast a stone. I can create ripples. And I can think of my brothers and sisters around the world. So I will remember the living and the lost. And alongside you, dear friends, I will send all the gentle ripples I can, the best I can, for as long as I can. We are the ones who mend. Sending you love, light, and peace . . . . . . #mendmondays#mend#kantha#borostitch#wabisabi#upcycle#linen#fabric#textiles#collage#sustainable#zerowaste#repurpose#scrap#simplethings#theartofslowliving#stitch#vintage#cloth#imperfection#mindfulness#globalcitizen#wholehearted#handmade#nothingisordinary#embroidery
Turn on your light + let it be a guide to others 💡Don't you dare be ashamed of who you are, what your beliefs may be or the gifts you've been given. It's your day + this is your time! If you need a little inspiration, Sister Sharon Eubank said it best in the #generalwomensmeeting this past weekend.
Happy 4th Birthday my sweet little girl, Jolie!! You are the joy of my life and I love watching you grow every day. May you get what’s best for you and 4 times cuter than ever, my starshine! Love you more than I can say.. 🎂🎁🎉❤️ #jolievelyn#wholehearted
When I read this quote in @lysaterkeurst book Uninvited I stopped, let out a breath, and read it again and again. This struck me to the core. This is a glimpse into the work I have done . I have come to realize that I have lived most of my life relying on everyone and everything to fill me. Lysa challenges her readers to "Live Loved", to show up full (filled with the fullness of Christ). This is a mindset, a choice. It has released me to be present and listen to the emotions that rise to the surface when I'm tempted to relapse into a feeling of scarcity. I have loved that these truths have woven through almost every book I have picked up. I am worthy, I am enough, I am whole. Living this out changes everything.
My heart and nervous system are still unwinding from a hard + beautiful weekend engaged in advanced training for grief--but even still, I feel inspired and refreshed too. . It makes me realize two things: . First, folks who do the work of walking through their stories, and truly owning all of it, are courageous. . Second, all of us have what it takes to be *healers.* Maybe not professionally (because how boring would that be, if we were all the same?), but when we choose to engage our shame, God can transform it + weave it into the bigger story of redemption. . I pray you have every resource you need to lean into your story today.
