You haven't really worked with raccoons unless you've asked yourself "is this poop or food?" πŸ˜…πŸ˜… seriously though raccoons are the most adorable wildlife I've had the pleasure to work with here at @crowclinic ... even though they can be so stressful, like when everyone decided they don't want to drink from their bottles nicely so you have to tube-feed them all 😭. But then they warm you heart with amazing tub time where they show how absolutely cute they are when they are all wet running through the stream of water and using their hands for seemingly the first time to grab little fishies to eat. Even covered in the goopiest food... SO CUTE! However, like I said they can be very stressful and without @demon3173 I seriously would have had the worst day! He reminded me that I use good judgement to make decisions and that I need to have confidence in who I am and what I do and that if I end up making the wrong call, it's okay because I'm just here to learn. Working with raccoons has sadly made me crave oatmeal with bananas, applesauce, and peanut butter so that's what I had for dinner. For their meals they get softened puppy chow, bananas, peanut butter, applesauce, a raw egg, and two veggies mixed in. This way they get used to eating lots of variety in the wild but still get their nutrients πŸ˜πŸ’• I of course added hemp seeds to mine πŸ˜‚ anyway! Have an amazing day. I love you all! #sanibel #crowclinic #veganfoodshare #sanibelvegan #loveyourself #passion #plantpower #plantbased #plantstrong #plantbasedfood #nomeatnoproblem #animalcrueltyfree #workingwithwildlife #wildlife #raccoon #wildliferehab #vegan #veganlife #veganfood #vegangirl #vegansofig #vegansofinstagram #love

It's nesting season and a critical time for a variety of species, with habitats continually decreasing species like the common loon, an icon in the north are becoming more and more challenged to find suitable nesting areas. The loon's anatomy confines it to requiring a very specific habitat for nesting success, fluctuating water levels (caused by dams), unnatural wave action (caused by irresponsible boaters) and lose of habitat all play a role in these challenges, currently we are monitoring a variety of nest sites using trail cams and specially constructed observation blinds, the attached photo was taken using a 600 m lens from a blind after almost a full day onsite, both adults share parental responsible in incubating and rearing the young, when transferring one adult to the next we can see in the nest using a spotting scope to count how many eggs without disturbing the daily activities and behaviour #loon #commonloon #wildlifephotography #wildlifebehaviour #nesting #wildlifestudies #wildlifeblind #nature #naturephotography #workingwithwildlife #algonquin #habitat #wildliferesearch #ig_great_shots #canada150 #wilderness #wildlifeculture
Little Bull, Big Bull this is a double header in the moose world or two heads are better then one, the thing is that this young bull was so interested in me that he never heard the bigger bull approaching from behind until he was quit close, when suddenly the younger bull turned and "surprise" he was definitely not as impressed as I was as the younger bull high-tailed it out there. Needless to say another awesome morning in Algonquin #wildlifephotography #canoe #canoeculture #animalbehavior #workingwithwildlife #earlystarts #coolenmoose #moose #mosquitos #algonquinpark #algonquin #canada150 #explorersedge #candiancreatives #ig_great_canadian_shots #ig_great_animals #surpriseencounters #photography #ig_great_shots
I transferred this little girl (probably a week old) to a rehab facility specialized in deer rehabilitation and release. This is a rare case where the mother of the fawn was hit by a car. A doe will typically leave her fawn/s in tall grasses, ferns and meadows while the doe forages for food. Because the fawn has no scent and the spots create a perfect camouflage, the fawn is nearly invisible to predators. A bear or coyote may walk right by the fawn without ever finding it. The fawn is able to stay perfectly still and even dramatically decreases their heart rate and respiration rate when a predator is near. This is why it is vital that if you see a fawn do not go near it and do not touch it. Do not create a scent that a predator may use to find the fawn. If you see a fawn, leave it alone. If you think it has been abandoned, it most likely has not, the mother will be back within a few hours to as long as a day. #workingwithwildlife #mawildlife #cutiepatootie #isecretlykeptit #thewildthingsiveseen
