This is so important to remember, especially if you have a chronic illness. Some days I can't get out of the apartment at all, and only barely be able to force myself to feed my cats and brush my teeth. A little @elenabrower inspired Sunday morning practice. 🙏🏻💓📿 . I had today circled on my calendar 📆. It was ⭕️ circled for a very important meeting. A meeting with... myself. . I needed to really check in. I mean drop deeply into my center and see how my body, mind and spirit is feeling. . I posted just the other day how some days I feel unstoppable and then there are those that feel like they stop me in my tracks. When those days of feeling like I can barely move arise they become my internal ⏰ alarm clock. . It lets me know that there has been a shift internally and I need to explore why. I open myself up to questions I might have pushed aside. I give F E A R a name. . It’s not to say that I am just “going through the motions each day” but certainly we can become so focused on one area of ourselves and our lives that other areas get overlooked or neglected. . So the shift in energy is a way of seeing that an imbalance has been created. So what’s my point??? . I watch many athletes I coach and students I teach push through the rough day because they believe that’s what strong people do. They forge ahead. But forging ahead over and over through these moments can break you down, create more fear and doubt and push you off your path. . So schedule a date with yourself. It doesn’t have to be a whole day or hour. Spend 5 min quietly somewhere (even if it means locking bathroom door from family lol) and notice your breath, does it feel shorter or deeper than usual. How does your body temperature feel? Is your body aching in any area. How does your stomach feel? It’s it upset, hungry, tied in knots? What about your head? Are your thoughts clear and focused or scattered, jumbled, misplaced, disorganized? . There are small physical cues that could help you determine what you truly NEED to get yourself back on track and back into balance. . A rest day might be just what you need, and it may feel like the most challenging workout of all. .
Counselling taboo!!! ??? Whenever I find some  time, I switch my role from an  artist to a psychology counsellor. It’s been 2 years I reckon. It’s time to spread the word about mental health awareness. So what do I do. I listen to those who are suffering from depression, anxiety, who are abused, bullied, who need motivation to move ahead in life, who need to know about themselves, who need to find love from all walks of life. All they need is someone to share their issues someone who is non judgemental, someone who could be trusted and someone who could treat them like normal people and help them find a way.  Now the ‘they’ are us. It’s me, it’s you and ‘they’ are one among us. We all go through mental pressure, breakdown and it’s pretty much difficult to get over the trauma.  I was supposed to post this 2 years ago. Somewhere deep in my heart, I thought about the perception of society’s take on counselling. The so called mad world, I reckon.  Think about the difficult times of yours feeling helpless and depressed. Those days were you cried for someone who do not even deserve your love. How did you overcome it ?  Everybody cannot get out of it. It’s hard isn’t it, sometimes you behave as if you are mad, it’s not mad, it’s the perception created by our society. It’s okay to and it’s completely normal. You aren’t lunatic. It’s all about our mind. Here is the importance of mental health awareness and counselling. “When I realise that I have been able to make a difference in somebody’s life, it makes a lot of difference in my life too. And that’s the greatest achievement”.
